3rd Person POV

Cherrypaw followed her mentor, Lionblaze, happily. She was finally an apprentice! Even though she was excited, she was very observant and mentally noted every scent, every bug, every, well, everything. She heard the quiet rustling of the leaves, smelled the fresh scent of the forest, saw the brown bark of the trees, and felt the soft blades of grass beneath her feet. There was life all around her! She was amazed by everything. Lionblaze, who was watching her, was amused by her reaction to the territory. They finally reached the lake, and headed towards their border with WindClan. Lionblaze taught Cherrypaw how to set markers and do the hunters crouch, and then they headed back to camp, but Cherrypaw came back with a mouse and 2 squirrels.

Cherrypaw had been an apprentice for a while now, and she was on the dawn hunting patrol. She was stalking a squirrel in a tree, but then she spotted a big canary on a branch above her. She decided to let the squirrel go and then Cherrypaw looked directly above her, and the canary was sitting there. It was really big for a bird. It was a little bigger than half of Cherrypaw! She looked around, trying to find a branch that she could jump on to get to the canary. She quietly walked forward to a branch a little below her, getting ready to hop down to it. She pounced, but in midair, she hit her head on a branch. She clumsily landed on the branch, and then looked around for help from others on the patrol, but no one was around. Her vision grew fuzzy and dark, but Cherrypaw kept on going to the canary. Now, it was fiercely pecking at a seed on the branch. It must be strong, Cherrypaw thought, looking at the pieces of bark and specks of dust flying in the air around her. She started to get dizzy, but tried to stay conscious. Suddenly, a twig snapped, and the canary flew away. Cherrypaw mustered all of her remaining energy and leaped at the bird. She clawed its wings, and held on to it. It suddenly turned its head at her and pecked her again and again until she fell unconscious, and her grip loosened, causing her to fall down into the Clan territories.
