Jack appeared with a suit on and his hair was combed back. He looked like a different man from before.

"Much better," I sighed. "I was getting tired of waiting." Jack leaned on one leg and put a hand behind his head.

"No, no." I shook my finger at him. "You have to stand up straight."

I caught him subtly rolling his eyes but he managed to straighten up like a gentleman. I nodded my approval.

"Thank you Howie."

The butler nodded and shuffled back upstairs. Swinging the car keys on my finger, we slowly walked to the front door. My heels clicked in the still air.

"You drive." I tossed the keys and Jack caught it with grace.

Not bad.

"Me?" He looked at the maker. "A MERCEDES BENZ??" His shocked face almost made me laugh. Almost.

"It's just a car." I shrugged. "You can drive can't you?"

"Y-Yeah," he stuttered. "But not this kind of car."

"So you want me to drive us to the party?"

His face crumpled up in deep thought and he slowly shook his head.

"I'll drive."

We walked out the door and got in the car right away.

"Helloooo!" McKenzie Lenovo said her "o" as if it was a "u." She leaned in to kiss my cheek and I sourly smiled back. "I'm so glad you could make it!"

"Of course!" I could hear the sarcasm dripping in my voice. "Wouldn't want to miss our high school reunion."

"Oh! Who's this?" Her eyes hungrily swept Jack's figure. "Hey," he smiled his crooked smile. "I'm Jack."

McKenzie stuck her hand out and Jack took it to give it a peck. Something twisted in my gut. What is that? Is that jealousy?

"Come in! Come in!" McKenzie gestured us in with her jewelry filled hand. We walked in and high school memories poured into my mind as I saw the familiar faces. I felt a pit grow in my stomach and couldn't help but reach out and grab Jack's arm. It tensed under my hands but slowly slacked as he adjusted to the sudden touch.

"Lots of familiar faces?" Jack whispered.

I nodded and cleared my throat, "Loads."

"Since everybody is here, I would like to move our part to our garden to start the dinner!" McKenzie's bangled arms waved around as she shooed us into the backyard. Or should I say, enchanted forest.

The place looked like it was something from a fairytale. Rolling hills, huge meadows, and even a small creek on the side. Tables were set up along with parasols.

"I want all of my high school ladies to sit over here!" McKenzie's voice rang out and I did my best to act like I didn't hear it. "Liv!"

I frowned. Nobody called me that. "Sit with us! What are you doing?" She gestured to two seats next to her and her husband. I felt queasy and the pit grew larger.

"O-Okay." I walked arm in arm with Jack to the table.

We sat down and I caught Jack gawking at the silverware and expensive china laid out in front of us. I softly kicked him under the table.

"Oh! Mr. Jack, you like my new china?"

"Yes," he smiled. "It's very nice."

I cleared my throat.

McKenzie stood up with a glass of champagne. "I would like to make a toast! To everybody I love oh, so dearly and to go down memory lane together in this wonderful reunion. Cheers!"

"Cheers!" Everybody clapped and took a sip of their drinks.

"Wonderful reunion," I snorted and chugged down mine.
