Skye's Apartment - December 18th, 2013

Flashes of memories raced through Skye's head. Lifting herself up out of the wreckage. Finding Ward dead on the ground. Scrambling to evac with Fitz. Bobby yelling at her, demanding to know what happened to Mack...

Opening her eyes, Skye woke from her sleep with nary a sound, the remnants of a fractured dream still plaguing her mind. Carefully she wiped a tear from her cheek as she sat up and hugged her knees, staring at the wall across from her.

At some point during the day, after she had pried herself from her bed and ate breakfast, she got a text from her CO to report to HQ in one hour. After a week of rest and recovery she was prepared to face the inevitable, perhaps even eager for it.

"—in other news, Castello 1 is set to launch this upcoming Friday where veteran astronaut, Hank Henshaw will instruct three trainees upon reaching Landsat-8 to perform maintenance. NASA in unveiling a new prototype propulsion system for launch day—"

Skye turned off the TV, a headache permeated at her forehead. She could feel it behind her eyes too. Looking forward, she realized that her window was open letting in beams of sunlight. It was far too bright for her. She shut the blinders and the headache went away immediately. After splashing cold water on her face, Skye headed out toward ARGUS headquarters.

"Hence forth you are disavowed for your actions and hereby stripped of your rank," Amanda Waller said with no tone of emotion. When the meeting concluded and the other high ranking officials left the room and it was just Waller and Skye, she added "You're burned Skye. I'm sorry. You were a good agent, but—"

"Cut the crap, Waller," Skye interrupted.

Waller didn't even hide it, she just smiled.

"Getting other people to take the fall for your fuckups, that I expected. But to disavow Mack and Ward—" she stopped herself from swearing further. "They won't even get a proper funeral after what you said."

Waller was silent as she stacked her documents and calmly put them in her briefcase, closing it before walking out of the meeting room.

As soon as the door closed Skye produced her phone from her back pocket, reading the notification on the screen.

"Phone Paired. File Transfer Complete."

Leaving the room, Skye was escorted to her locker to retrieve her property. The guard she was with looked bored and uninterested, consistently tapping his hand against his pants and humming what suspiciously sounded like Party In The U.S.A. by Miley Cyrus. So, when he happened to turn away from her, she easily clocked him over the head knocking him out cold.

Sneaking through ARGUS was as easy as breathing for Skye. Maybe easier. Using the guard's keycard let her through most doors and when she came across a high security door, she hacked passed it, no two sweats about it.

Once she reached the Records Room, she got to work. According to Waller's personal files there was a secure depository below the room. Anything that the ultra-paranoid head of ARGUS would want to keep secret, would be in there. Entering Waller's code into the room's access panel triggered the floor to open, a cylinder computer terminal extending from the ground. Approaching the console Skye began to sift through Waller's dirty laundry.

"Holy shit," Skye muttered.

Transactions for Black Market purchases. Over eighty different assassination hires. Offshore bank accounts with millions of dollars. Weapons Development facilities. Nuclear bomb schematics? Damn Waller, paranoid much? Wait a minute...
