Chapter 8 Hardest part of the Mission

 Every pony turned Mouthe's open and face spread with awe.

"That has to be it," Applejack exclaimed.

"It makes sense because why would Celestia not keep the thing that held her power in her sight rather than bringing everywhere she goes," Diamond added.

They all realized how hard the mission was actually. Now they had to somehow get Celestia's royal necklace away from her and smash the gem.

"Now how are we going to do that," asked Rainbow dash.

"I've got an idea," Clover said proudly.

"What  is it," Twilight asked.

"Kitty and the pony Pinkie Pie will distract her while I gently left her necklace off with a spell that makes her think she is still wearing it but is not. Then we smash it and wait for DarkMist," Clover explained.

"It just might work," Twilight said agreeing with the plan.

"Now we just need to find Celestia," said Pinkie and Kitty at the same time obviously already knowing how to distract Celestia.

"She's on the balcony I think," Lightning suggested.

"Now you two get to work with your show while we get Celestia," said Clover as she galloped towards the balcony as if she had been raised in the castle.

When they reached the balcony they did find Celestia starring out across Canterlot. She turned to face them.

"What is it," she asked as she faced them.

"Pinkie Pie and Kitty insisted on putting on a show for you," Twilight said.

"We'll show you," Clover added in a sweet voice that was not her real one.

Celestia followed the two unicorns to where a stage had been set up somehow by the two hyperactive ponies. Pinkie stuck her head out from behind the curtain and smiled because she saw Celestia trot in front of the stage and sit down and look up at it. Then some music started to play and the curtains pulled away revealing Kitty and Pinkie Pie in fancy dresses. They started to sing about how making friends is important and helping them is a good deed. Clover walked over to Twilight and whispered. "I'am going to get the necklace now keep watch on Celestia make sure she doesn't notice." Clover walked behind one of the columns and started the spell. Twilight sat down besides Celestia and watched Pinkie's dance and Clover as she did her spell.

Celestia's necklace slowly lifted off of her neck without her noticing then the necklace disappeared. Twilight guessed Clover teleported it to herself. She watched as Clover nodded towards Twilight as she slowly replaced the necklace to celestia's neck but without the gem. Twilight got up and trotted towards Clover quietly Celestia didn't notice since she was to distracted by Kitty and Pinkie dancing on the stage, Twilight's and Clover's other friends had joined them now.

"Here," Clover levitated the gem towards Twilight as she went behind the pillar.

Twilight grasped it in her magic then she turned around to see Celestia had disappeared and her friends and Clover's were running towards her.

"We Couldn't distract her enough she noticed the gem on her necklace disappeared. Then she disapp.." a voice cut off Pinkie's worried report.

"Twilight give me the gem NOW," said the voice.

Twilight turned around to see Celestia, she was fully enraged.

"Twilight, give it to me," she repeated.

"No never," Twilight screamed back.

"TWILIGHT YOU DON"T KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING SO JUST HAND IT HERE," screamed Celestia as she charged at Twilight.

Twilight turned to run but Celestia banged into her making her lose the grip with her magic on the gem. The gem flew high in the air and crashed hard against the marble floor. It shattered into tons of tiny pieces, and magical dust lifted up from it, swirled around, and disappeared, the gem was broken at last.

"Twilight look at what you've done, you will be punished for this," Celestia said as she got up and grabbed Twilight with her magic.

"No, it will be you who is punished," a voice said.

Celestia dropped Twilight and turned around................
