"Eiko," I say. "Do you know why we hardly ever go outside?" I cant believe I'm telling her this...
"Why is that," Eiko responds
"Well, before even Gen opened her eyes, we had parents. Loving ones. Their names were Daken and Rei..."
"What happened," Eiko asks.
I sigh. "Eiko..."
"Yeah?"
"This world we live in... its not safe..."
Eiko gasps. "Wh-What do you mean it's not safe?"
"We stay in our treehouse to protect you. I'm sorry- I shouldn't have lied to you..."
"I-I don't understand!"
I sigh again.
"Our world... its- its inhabited by Fuhai no Akuma- Corruption Demons... one day... they killed our parents..."
Eiko looks at me, a look of fear but also anger and tears in her eyes. She whispers but one thing:
"Why?"
