Four hours, that's how long you'd been driving for until you finally saw the sign for Santa Carla, that strange feeling was back as you drove past it and into the town.

You found a place to park in town, silently praying you'd return and find everything still in the car as you walked away to find anyone letting out a room or a small apartment. As you walked along you observed everyone and everything around you, the town didn't seem too bad in your opinion, there were a few interesting characters but nothing out of the ordinary. People were going about their day, kids were running to the beach, all in all it seemed pretty nice.

After browsing a few houses that were open to renters you almost gave up, most were either creepy old men or just didn't have a good vibe when you looked around them.

Just as you were leaving a row of houses you saw something just further out, it was a small blue  house with a matching but smaller building next to it and a sign reading "For Rent". A grin overtook your face as you thought you may just be in luck, you walked up the small stone path to the front door and knocked three times. You waited a few minutes and when there was no response you let out a sigh and turned around to head back to the town centre, however a voice called out to you from the other side of the house and you wandered around to follow it.

There was a little old lady on her knees next to a bed of roses she'd just planted, she turned to look up at you with a bright smile then stood up to greet you.

"Apologies dearie, I'm not as fast as I used to be, I figured calling to you would work better," she let out a little chuckle. You liked this lady already.

"It's no problem, I'm new to the town and noticed you're looking for a renter, is that still up for grabs?"

She smiled brighter than before if that was even possible, "Why of course, you're the only person that's taken an interest, my names Elaine but most people call me granny so whichever you prefer love," she offered her hand for me to shake and I took it in my own.

"It's nice to meet you, I'm Y/N, thank you so much for allowing me to rent here I'd almost given up any luck." You let out a deep sigh and let go of her hand.

"Well you're just in luck then, that building is the one you'll be staying in you are of course welcome to look around and I'll meet you in the kitchen of the main house to go over details if you wish to stay," she handed me a key and pointed to the smaller building at the end of the garden the turned to go into her own home. I ventured to the door unlocking it and walking  inside. The place was fully furnished and the view from the window perfectly overlooked the sea as well as cliffs along it. There was a small kitchen and living room when you first entered then two doors leading off into the bedroom and the other to the bathroom.

I smiled happily as I looked around the place then left for the main house to discuss arrangements with granny. Living here wouldn't be too bad after all.
