Chapter 29
“Ah!”
Noel was startled and dropped the book he was holding. Then, he turned around to see who was the one playing a prank on him.
“Mr. Noel!”
“Oh my God! … Miss Sylvia?!”
He was in a bad mood but wondered who was messing with him, so he turned around, expressionless. He was even more shocked to see it was Sylvia who had surprised him.
He was so taken aback that he dropped the book he was organizing and hurriedly clung to the bookshelf. He looked like he had seen a ghost.
Noel, who had a pale face, swept over his face with his hands and stammered, looking to the side.
“M-Miss Sylvia! What brings you here…”
“What else? I came because I was told to organize the library. The Great Hall is now cleaned by the new congregation, so I can’t get myself in there.”
“Ah, ah! I see. Then, we can organize the books together.”
As Sylvia stared at him, he, who wasn’t looking at her, turned around completely as he must have felt her gaze. Sylvia felt a little upset by that.
‘Did I overdo it? Judging by his reaction, he is surely avoiding me.’
She didn’t think she did anything that bad. Still, it might have been an excessive stimulus for a naive priest.
‘Did he perhaps notice that I had a treacherous intention?’
Sylvia glanced at Noel’s back and shook her head slightly. If he had noticed her intentions, he wouldn’t calmly organize the library with her. However, it was true that the atmosphere was a bit lewd the other day, so it may have been awkward for Noel, who was a priest.
Since she couldn’t figure out how much faith she had to increase in order to avoid being punished, Sylvia decided to keep poking Noel moderately whenever she could. The option of not playing tricks for a while was not in Sylvia’s dictionary.
Meanwhile, Noel sweated inwardly. He deliberately applied for a business trip and avoided Sylvia for a week. His mind was complicated because he kept remembering Sylvia’s wet body.

But while not seeing her, the thoughts about her filled his mind day and night, and he became even more troubled. With Sylvia showing up unannounced and surprising him, Noel couldn’t help but be startled.
Worried that the symbol of a man would stand up in an inevitable situation like the last time, he clenched his teeth hard and became determined.
‘I’m a priest who serves God, I must control myself…’
The two stood silent in the awkward atmosphere and organized the books. By the time they had finished organizing about half of the library, Sylvia, who was anxious at the silent atmosphere, opened her mouth.
“I washed the clothes you lent me that day and put them on the desk in your office.”
“Ah… I saw them already.”
“Now that I think about it.”
“What?”
“I took my underwear that day, but I think I left my clothes behind. Have you seen them?”
“Miss Sylvia’s clothes? Ah… I’m sorry. I have been out of my mind since that day. The person who was doing the cleaning must have thrown them away.”
The person who was doing the cleaning and knew nothing could have mistaken them for rags and thrown them away, since her clothes were scattered on the floor, wet.
She smiled bitterly and said, ‘I see.’. Noel was restless, and glanced at Sylvia.
“I apologize. I’m responsible for not keeping your clothes, Sister.”
‘You don’t even have to be sorry. I’m going to buy some clothes today anyway.’
She was already tired of wearing ragged clothes. Sylvia thought that when she bought clothes at the relief market today, she was going to throw away all her beggar clothes in the clothing bin.
The kind Noel, who was sorry even though he knew the value of the rags she was wearing, didn’t know what to do.
Sighing as he meaningless put the book on the bookshelf, Noel looked back at her.
“I’m really sorry. I… I will buy you new clothes.”
“What? You don’t need to do that. I don’t want to burden you.”
The ragged clothes were almost like a cleaning cloth, so it didn’t matter if they were thrown away. As Sylvia, who didn’t want to burden him, shook her head, Noel smiled softly.
“I’m a high priest. A piece or two of clothing is not a huge burden for me.”
“You’re a high priest? Wow, that’s amazing.”
She had felt an unusual aura for some reason, and he turned out to be a high priest. While working at the temple, she heard that they had to have divine power in order to become a priest, but to become a high priest at a young age like Noel, they had to be born with great divine power.
She didn’t know exactly what the salary of a high priest was, but she heard that it was much more than the salary of a regular priest.
She heard that regular priests are also paid much more than ordinary people because they are high-quality workers, but there is a high scarcity of those with great divine power, so high priests are given a generous amount of money.
‘Mr. Noel… Is even more amazing than I thought.’
Being a priest was already amazing, but he turned out to be a high priest.
Considering that regular priests sometimes wore gold rings and went around using carriages from foreign brands, Noel, a high priest, was unlikely to be burdened by money.
‘Ugh…’
When she silently thought about it, for some reason, she almost cried out of sorrow.
‘I’d rather the player be set up as a saint with a strong divine power, so I wouldn’t have to worry about money.’
Because she didn’t have any money, she had to go to the pyramid and even put eyes on dolls.
And that wasn’t all. In an R-rated novel she secretly read, even though a saint came out as the heroine and said no, the male characters lined up and threw themselves at her.
But what was her situation? She was rejected by the male god before the possession, she received divine punishment if she targeted Noel, Luca’s body was filled with poison, and she wasn’t even sure if Sevis, who was the closest to her, was a target character or not, nor was he an adult.
‘Ugh…’
As she clenched her teeth tightly in a situation that seemed like she was going to let out a curse, Noel continued.
“Shall we go buy some clothes after we’re done organizing the books?”
“Oh, I was already going to the r… relief market today to buy some clothes.”
Though poverty was not a sin, the somewhat embarrassed Sylvia stuttered, and Noel met her eyes with a gracious smile.
“Although the relief market is good, I’d like to buy Miss Sylvia a new outfit.”
“Ah…”
As he offered many times, she couldn’t refuse. Sylvia nodded, and Noel swept over his bangs with a proud expression. Somehow, his face seemed to be slightly flushed.
“Ah, but I was supposed to go get some clothes with Sevis, the person who lives with me. Is it okay if he comes with us?”
“… That wolf shifter?”
Noel’s expression hardened. Wondering if it seemed like she was asking him to buy clothes for Sevis as well, Sylvia hurriedly continued.
“Yes. Ah! I’m not asking you to buy clothes for him. That child’s clothes will come from our living expenses…”
As she referred to Sevis as a child, Noel’s hardened face softened again. He didn’t know why, but he was relieved to hear Sylvia say that the wolf shifter was a child.
‘It seems like she doesn’t see him as a man… No. Why am I thinking something like this?’
Noel could not believe what he had thought for a moment.
‘I’m speechless.’
After faking a smile with his eyes down for a moment, he cleared his expression and opened his mouth.
“It’s no burden to me. I’ll buy clothes for that child, too.”
“Ah, I’m really sorry for that.”
Noel smiled softly as Sylvia lowered her eyebrows and made an apologetic face.
“You can pay me back next time.”
“Ah! Then it’s settled. Without fail! I will definitely pay you back.”
Sylvia looked at Noel, her hands tightly together, looking moved.
‘Yeah, I will have more and more money as I play the game. I just have to pay him back then.’
Is this how it feels when a noob is given a good item from a pro in a game? Sylvia, who was no different from a low-level player who only ran around with a wooden sword, was thrilled to receive an item from the game character Noel.
The corners of Sylvia’s mouth rose happily on their own. She thought she had to work helplessly to buy clothes, but a target character also bought clothes for her.
Was this also an event in the game story? There was no message so Sylvia couldn’t understand it, but she was just happy as she was in a position where she was going to wear clothes from the relief market.
Noel smiled brightly, feeling better as he watched Sylvia look at him like a squirrel with her hands together in a praying posture.
“We need to tidy up quickly so we can go buy the clothes.”
“Sounds good! Let’s hurry up and get it done.”
Before long, the awkward atmosphere disappeared, and the two moved busily, rubbing the labels of the books and arranging the messy library in order.
Rustle.
Sylvia, who urgently pulled the mobile staircase, stood in a pile of dust and moved to clean the books at the top.
She was a little anxious when she heard a creaking noise, but she was excited because she was going to wear a new outfit, so she went up. She climbed the stairs without hesitation while holding a dry cloth, took out the thick hardback books that had been covered with dust, and wiped them until they glistened.
Seeing Sylvia like that, he shouted with a worried face.
“Miss Sylvia! Do you want me to do it?”
“No, no. Since I’m already here, I’ll clean them and go down in an instant. When I finish this, we can get off work.”
As she was about to take out a heavy hardback book, wipe it, and put it back, one leg of the creaking staircase collapsed, and Sylvia’s body lost its balance.
“Miss Sylvia!”
“Oh God!”
Thud! It happened in an instant. Sylvia fell to the ground as one side of the old wooden staircase collapsed. She closed her eyes tightly.
“Ugh…”
However, the pain did not come even though she had clearly fallen off the stairs.
‘Huh, something is soft… Very soft. Did Mr. Noel catch me?’
She could feel a warm and soft touch on her face. Noel had rushed forward and acted as a cushion when she fell.
“Sniff…”
Sylvia closed her eyes for a moment and smelled Noel’s scent. She could subtly feel the heavy scent of soap. The more she rubbed her cheeks and sniffed, the heavier it got…
‘Wait, heavy… heavy?’
