"...Ena, do you have any snacks...?" Mizuki asked, their face twisted into a teasing pout.

Ena just rolled her eyes, moving to search through her purse. "I dunno, Mizuki. You ate all of my breath mints I kept in here, so it looks like I'm all out of anything." She said dryly, giving her friend a heavy side eye.

Mizuki and Ena were out on a walk. Mizuki had invited their closest friend, and Ena had found herself accepting eagerly.

Mizuki grinned. "They're so good, Enanan~! I couldn't resist!" They giggled, leaning closer to Ena, who recoiled with a grimace engraved on her face.

"Uh huh. Whatever you say, Mizuki." Ena turned, her eyes glancing up into the sky. "Ah, it looks like it's gonna rain..!"

Mizuki posed dramatically, their right hand spread out over their face like an anime character. "Perhaps we should go to the park. We can have a jolly-"

"Shh!" Ena swatted Mizuki away, her face reddening slightly. "I'm gonna get my hair wet. Quick- there's a cafe. C'mon...!" She grabbed Mizuki's wrist, dragging them into a nearby coffeeshop.

The two staggered inside, climbing into a cozy cafe booth. They were on opposite sides, staring into each other's eyes. Ena's expression serious, Mizuki's playful.

Outside, rain crashed down in thick sheets, soaking the grass and streets, unexpecting pedestrians drenched.

Ena shuddered. "I spent forever on my hair this morning... I'd hate for it to be ruined so soon." She sighed, her eyes scanning the menu that was thrust in her direction.

Mizuki stuck out their tongue. "I think your hair is cutest when it's messy. More natural, y'know? That's my Ena." They said, gesturing for the waiter to come take their order. "An ice tea for me, please."

Ena ground her teeth. She always found it impossible to look away from Mizuki. Those rosy eyes, that cascading ponytail tied upright with that ribbon... they looked so unique. So... exciting. So different from Ena. "...An oolong tea for me....!"

The waiter nodded, swiftly turning to deliver their orders.

"Cafes take forever..." Mizuki observed with a slight smile, twiddling their thumbs in amusement as they stared directly at Ena.

"Patience is a virtue." Ena replied, an eyebrow quirked.

Mizuki rolled their eyes. "Bleh."

The waiter returned, this time holding their beverages.

"Oh, thanks!" Mizuki exclaimed, their face lighting up.

That soft voice, that vibrant voice... the inexplicable joy, the simple happiness..

Perhaps it was just the season. Spring was when everything blossomed, and everything became beautiful. Maybe this was why Ena found herself taking note of every peculiar piece of Mizuki's beauty.

To Ena, it was stunning.

There wasn't a textbook definition of Mizuki. Mizuki was just themself, so beautiful and unique.

"Enanan~? Don't you like your tea? I'll drink it for you... don't let it get cold!" Mizuki said cheerfully, sipping their drink with a beam plastered onto their face.

Ena instantly glanced at her hands. She'd been staring at Mizuki again, like some sort of creep. "Sorry, I zoned out..." She muttered, holding her teacup to her lips. The hot steam caused her to squint, not sure if she wanted to take a sip.

Mizuki just smiled. "It's cute."

Ena almost spit her tea out. "H-huh?" She asked, defiantly.

"You're fun to tease, Ena. Don't spill your tea~!" Mizuki just laughed, entertained. Their eyes lowered, then. "...Thanks, you know. For coming with me today. You know I enjoy your company."

Startled, Ena just nodded. "Anytime..."

The two just smiled at one another, Ena's more subtle, Mizuki's wider.

As they sipped away, laughing, teasing...

They felt like spring flowers, newly exposed to the world.

But it felt good.

Ena felt good when she was around Mizuki, and vice versa.

Perhaps fate had called to them.

Well... no matter the reason...

It was picture perfect.
