The sun shone through the penthouses' windows, and I realized I slept on the couch, with most of my paper work everywhere. I slept in the middle of finishing my paper work. "Morning sunshine!" I heard Abbey cry out, as I smell the aroma of waffles being made in the kitchen.

"Waffles please with chocolate chips, whipped cream and maple syrup," saying this while stretching. I found Sugar still asleep in her other dog bed, located in the living room. She's so cute, I swear, I need a dog or a cat. Obviously, though, I can't because I am busy or Abbey and I spend most of our days with just girly things.

"Coming right up bestie," she checked the waffles, "what you dream about?"

Honestly, it was a nightmare. I dreamed about this man, who arrived on earth and destroyed everything in its path. He looked menacing and intimidating. So, I told her just that.

"Dang Amy, need a break from the paper work? I mean they haven't called you for inspection of bodies and neither was I called for patients, so why not go shopping?" I smiled to this thought, just spending a day with my best friend. And her dog.

"I'd obviously love that Abbers."

I loved calling her that, so she smiled. I smiled back.

Practically, it was a typical morning. We had breakfast, she had strawberries and chocolate chips while I had only chocolate chips, minus the whipped cream fight and the mess we have to clean up. After this happened, we went up stairs, got ready for our shopping trip. I basically took a shower, did my everyday make-up, hair-dried my hair and gave it waves, then wore the clothes I am planning to wear. Since I am having a good day so far, I wore a dress with a blazer to match and nude heels.

I came down stairs, finding Abbey all ready. "Ugh, why do you have to be prettier than me?" I laughed, "Honey, this," pointing to my simple dress, "is not pretty enough for anybody."

"Haters gonna hate so just shake it off. I am not even hating!" I laughed. I was all happy until we entered the elevator, with Sugar in her leash. My phone vibrated, but it was an elevator so I had to miss the call due to low reception.

As soon as we excited, I called the number. "Hello?"

"Miss Vale?" a man asked.

"Yes, this is Ms. Vale." Abbey gave me a 'duh' look. "Is there a problem?"

"Ms. Vale, I am Agent Clark Gregg of the CIA here to report about the plane flight that Mrs. Vale and Mr. Cervetti took," he reluctantly started, "their jet just suddenly disappeared, out of satellite view and none of the pilots reported back. They lost route about eight hours ago and you were the last person to call Mrs. Vale-"

My eyes widened, considering he's CIA reporting about my mom, "what are you talking about? Like out of radar?"

"Amelia?" Abbey asked. I gave her 'the hand' reminding her I am in an urgent and important discussion.

We stopped walking. "Miss Amelia, the jet's satellite location just went out of radar and they weren't even following the route to the Cervetti's mansion in Florence," Agent Gregg briefly repeated.

My head started getting dizzy, my eyes were filled with tears, my knees started getting wobbly like noodles. "I am afraid the plane's GPS is hacked, so they are either at a different location, or the plane ultimately crashed," I covered my mouth, tears about to start falling, "I am deeply sorry."

"Oh my god," I croaked, then I gave in and lost the light.

~Abbey's POV~

"AMELIA!" I cried out as soon as her body fell to the ground. Sugar and I quickly ran to her and I quickly dialed 911.

"911, what's your emergency?"

"My friend fainted, please, please, bring an ambulance immediately."

"Alright, what's your location?"

I frantically looked around for the street sign, "North Queen Street! Please you have to hurry!" Everyone started gathering around, they should give us space!

Then it hit me. Nick Fury, one of Amelia's closest family friends, I got to call him. So, I took her phone and uncontrollably scrolled for his freaking number. Yes! I found it!

"Director Nick Fury." Freaking finally!

"OH MY GOSH. Ok Nick, I'm Abbey, a close friend of Amelia's, she fainted in the middle of our sidewalk and she needs the hospital very badly, so please, please,-"

"Young lady, slow down and where are you?"

"North Queen Street! I am guessing the ambulance is about to arrive in a few minutes," and then I heard sirens coming closer, "actually, they are here and I believe we will be heading Mid Atlantic Urgent Care at 3301 Wilson Boulevard here in Arlington. Nick, when she wakes up, she would love to have you by her side. Please get here!"

~At the Hospital~

~Amelia's POV~

My body sprung upward as soon as my eyes fluttered open to bright lighting. Over at the end of the hospital bed, still in my clothes, I see Nick Fury, Abbey and a doctor. "See? Thankfully, she just mildly fainted. She'll be alright," the doctor stated. "Thank you, doctor," thanked Abbey. "No problem," smiling, she left the room. I sat up.

"Abbey? Nick?" tears filled my eyes once more.

"Amelia, what happened?" Nick asked.

"Nick, about mom-"

"Amelia, I heard about it. I- I am sorry."

I sniffled, but ended giving up. I broke into a sobbing, my hands covered face as I leaned. Abbey kept hugging me while Nick patted my back. I can't believe it. She's. Gone. My fairy godmother, the person I entirely looked up to, my guardian angel, and most importantly, my mother. She's gone, I lost her in the dark, just that. I felt like I am falling into a never-ending hole.

"We should give her space," Nick suggested. Both of them left the room, leaving me all alone. Well, in reality, I guess I really am alone.
