Hi everyone! Unfortunately this isn't a new chapter, but I'd like to state a few formal announcements to talk about the future of this book.

Because I've been busy with college, I haven't been able to dedicate much time on this book. I have been adding some progress throughout the months, but it's not enough progress for me to make a new chapter update. I realize that this problem has been going on for more than year, so after months of deliberation I came to a decision.

So,

What will happen to this book?

I'll be putting this back on hiatus again.  ('-﹏-'；) I'm really sorry.

This book has always been on the back of my mind ever since I first published it in 2021, and I'm still hoping to finish it eventually. But I realized that actually taking the time to sit down, plan, and write it out until the end might do more good for my mental health, rather than worrying about when I can pump out the next update. Not that I haven't been doing that already, but it's mainly just the idea of having to push out an update the moment I finish editing a chapter—and I realize it's been holding me back. My first "hiatus" didn't work out because of that issue.

It sucks, but because it's difficult for me to juggle both my coursework and hobbies at this point, I made the decision to really focus on work first or else I'll genuinely get burned out at this point.;;

And so, by the time I do update this book again, it will definitely have a planned ending, a proper backstory, and a consistent update schedule. (really hoping to establish a consistent update schedule because it's been two years already aaa)

Will anything change once the book starts updating again?

Most likely, yes. For like... the third time... ( ་ ⍸ ་ )

I have been working on other books outside of this one (which I haven't published yet), and I did notice that my writing style has changed. So, you can expect a change in my style. Maybe the verb tense will change, too. But that's not set in stone yet.

But I've also been changing a lot of the backstory and character development stuff behind the scenes, so you can expect changes in that, too.

Overall, what can the readers expect for this book?

A few things:

1. First and foremost, I am not abandoning this book. I've only decided to halt updates completely to focus solely on planning and writing the story in full. Koemi's a precious OC of mine and I'd hate to see her going out with an unfinished ending twice in a row. The original story's ending was tragic enough. :^))

2. You can expect the chapter limit for this book to cap at around Chapter 30-40 or less. I realize that prolonging this book to fit the arcs after the School Festival arc would deter away from a Koemi-centric story to a Koemi-story-that-revolves-around-her-and-the-rest-of-hero-society.

I am thinking of including arcs like the Joint Training Battle arc and the subsequent arcs as side-stories, though! But that will depend on whether or not you lovely readers would like to see that come to fruition ^^

3. I've also made progress on what the epilogue will look like, so for anyone who was hoping for Koemi and a character getting together by the end of the book, just know that the slow-burn will continue to slow-burn even up to that point. Maybe... Probably. (Basically, just know that there might be an endgame but it won't be official.)

Over the years, I've come to terms that Koemi doesn't need a partner to be with, but therapy. Especially given the things that's happening in the Anime and Manga. /hj

Again, I'm very sorry for disappointing you all. Especially since I've made similar announcements before. I was really hoping to get more done this year, but I don't think it can happen with everything that's going on.

Even so, I really appreciate all of the votes and comments that this story has received thus far. Seeing the interactions have helped me stay motivated, since I know that you all were here to support it. Thank you so much! <33

Also, for anyone wondering, the chapters I've published so far will remain up. I'll likely un-publish and republish the chapters once the book has been written and edited in full.
