06 Immortal

Hearing Mavis briefing us for the ninth time about the plan makes me want to sleep. Her voice sometimes are like some lullaby urging me to fall asleep. Pinching my arm a bit, i hiss a bit before rubbing it.

" Did you all get it?" Mavis asked. Looking at us expectantly.

" We did, can we go now? I can already hear the troubles and people's scream from here" i said impatiently before looking away as her eyes landed on me.

" Very well, you all know where you should go when we go to the town. Let's go!" that's all what she said before getting on her feet and starts walking away with Zera on her side.

Honestly i was a bit worried about the plan. It's amazing but my overprotective side won't let me rest knowing that I'll be going somewhere at the town without those two with me. And i may or may not be worried for their safety.

Sighed.

Following over them until we reach the edge of the forest, we all takes a glance on each other before going on our separate ways. Warrod are with me and we both made our way at the town before running on some members of Blue skull. I summoned my sword before going for a strike as they starts coming on us. Warrod are using his nature magic, growing some woods from the ground and attacking them with it.

Looking away from him i lifted my sword up and was about to slash it but my eyes widen at the man not far from us. There's a large cannon made of magic that was about to fire at us. Acting on response, i quickly run in front of Warrod before smacking both my hands on the ground.

" Gold Dragon's Mold: SHIELD!"

A gold magic circle appeared under me before it spread and a barrier appeared just before the cannon was fired blocking the attack.

I glared at the man who has a look of surprise on his face. Dispersing the barrier and making a quick and fast leap in front of the man, i slash him with my sword making him scream in pain as blood coated my blade.

Warrod nodded at me before attacking the others.

I let out a sigh before engaging myself again. The fight seems taking so long and i don't know where they keep appearing. It's like there's no ending with them continuing to appear and attack us.

Suddenly a roar were heard that shaken things up.

A dragon?!

My eyes fell on the huge form of a blue dragon. It was big! That's where the Kardia Cathedral is! Don't tell me the skeleton..

" Enlil!"

I quickly turn my head to Warrod hearing him calls for me. He has a look of determination on his face as he continues to attack the members of Blue skull before taking a glance at me.

" Go! I can handle this!" he said.

I look at him quite surprised but the look on his face tells me that he was serious.

" Don't die on me Tree!" i said before running away to where the dragon is.

As i run there's some of those men that keeps popping up and i can't help it but to engage with them or else they will pile up more on Warrod. Just as i was nearing the place, i heard a scream. I knew that voice..

Zera!

Leaving those men i run to where i heard her voice before making a stop as soon as i saw her. But she was not harm in fact she looks alright with me. She was looking up to something else and that's why she was screaming.

" Mavis!"

I watch in horror as Mavis were falling from the sky upside down. The dragon let out a roar once it sees Mavis and my heart skips a bit. My attention goes to Mavis expression, she's not scared, in fact she was looking more determined even though she was falling. But then, Mavis suddenly clasp both of her hands in front of her. And there's a bright light that appeared making me close my eyes.

Damn! Too bright!

And then, nothing. There was nothing, not even a sound. It all became quiet, and i tried to peak opening my eyes a bit before looking around us. Shock, confused, and full of questions.

What the hell just happened?

The dragon are gone and there's Yuri laying on the ground. A sudden footsteps made me blinked as Zera ran to where Mavis is, jumping on her and taking her in a hug. Mavis did it?.. Precht and Warrod walked to us and they are too have a look of confusion on their faces. Precht move and pick up Yuri wrapping his arm around his shoulder. Looking back at Mavis, she smiled at us just before she lost consciousness. It alerted us as she was unresponsive before i take her in my arms. Precht told me that we should go and see a specialist, and with him leading us we made our way to where is it.

It didn't take us long to reach it, the house was located near the forest and Precht knocked on the door before an old woman opened it and telling us to come in. I set Mavis body on the bed as the woman sit beside her before taking her hand and then putting her hand on Mavis chest. I observe the woman do her thing, checking Mavis and then frown afterwards.

The woman then put down Mavis hands back before she turned to us with seriousness written all over her feature.

" Due to using an incomplete and powerful spell, it took her life force off of her. And she would no longer be able to grow and will stay like this for the rest of her life" the woman said.

My eyes widened in shocked as i stared at her then to Mavis.

" What?.. You mean she still will age but her appearance won't change and stay like this?" Zera asked in disbelief. The woman nodded her head.

" It's the cost of using an incomplete spell" she said before turning to me.

My gold eyes met hers, a gray and clouded with ash colors on it. She looks like she was blind but i can't really tell. It's like she was studying me, looking deeply into my soul.

" Just like her" she said.

" W- What?" i asked. Dumbfounded.

The others turned their heads on me looking confused but so am i. Like me? What is she talking about?

" You're the same as her. You continue to age but your appearance hasn't changed one bit" she said still looking at me.

" B.. but i never used any incomplete spells!" i exclaimed, scandalized. What is this woman talking about?!

" You don't.. but yours is different. Though you and her are not far from being different now. You continue to age but will not change no matter how many years will pass, or to put it simply. You are Immortal and her she just turned like you, an Immortal" she said as silence filled the room.

An I-Immortal? Me? How did it happen? What's going on?

The sound of door closing brought me back to my senses making me jump a bit. I look down on Mavis, her chest rise and fall smoothly like she was sleeping. No one wants to make a sound after the things that has been said. An immortal, really? Mavis and i?

" I.. I'll be back" i said before turning on my heels and go to the door and walked outside the house.

I don't know where i was going but i let my feet guide me everywhere.

Sighed.

What is really happening to me? Ever since i woke up that night seven years ago, weird things has been happening to me. Like my senses, it became heightened and i can smell someone even if they are miles away from me. It's why i knew when Yuri and the others came to the island even though i was on the other side of the island that time. I smell them. And my teeth, i have canniness that grow unexpectedly. I was laughing one time with what Mavis had told me when Zera pointed it out and then when i look at my self in the mirror, i noticed my eyes having a slit over them. And now that i think of it.. these changes.. it's what a dragon looks like. Their slit eyes, long canniness, sharp claw and those scales...

My eyes goes to my hand and look at each fingers trying to see if i have claws growing on my hands. I just wish that something like that won't grow on me or a tail. I thought. Letting out a sigh i look in front of me before blinking a few times seeing that i was inside the forest with some clearing. Walking outside the forest i took a seat on the grass before laying on my back and stare at the sky.

Am i really an Immortal? Sighed.
