79. A moment

ENLIL

The sounds of explosions was heard from a distance, though no one seems to have mind it since all of them are either busy with things or on their own battle. Just like how i was. I don't really understand what happened. All i know is that Natsu decided to attack me all of a sudden. At first i thought it was the thing he always did, fighting someone for entertainment but when i see the look in his eyes. I know it was not, It was different. It's rage.. anger. The reason? I have no idea, though he keeps on saying about me attacking them. Our friends. I saw Erza and the others in the corner of my eyes, all laying down on the ground and seems wounded and in pain, probably from all the fightings since we are up against some dragons.

Once i have appear and came, the scents of different dragons filled my nose. It really brought some shock to me but now is not the time to froze over and think of it. I need to help them or anyone. But it's not just that, something dark was also here. Though the scent had started to fade along with the wind and dust flowing around and the smell of something burning covers it, making it hard for me to decipher what it was. Still it doesn't leave my mind curious on what was that since it seems quite familiar but also doesn't.

I move to the side as Natsu's punch appear on my side trying to hit me. His eyes met mine and the glare he has on me felt uncomfortable since i was so used on it with full of innocence, mischief and happiness. And that look felt weird to see it from eye to eye. Dodging another attack it was getting harder and harder to avoid everything he has thrown over me. Despite of the wounds and bruises i got, deep inside me, i don't want to fight him. I see him like a younger brother that i never had. And fighting him, a family was not something i do. But knocking some sense would be an appropriate word if i fought back. And just as i saw an opening, i gave him a direct hit. He let out a scream as he was thrown back and on the ground.

" Damn you!" he scream. Natsu got up quickly fueled by anger, i can see the veins popping on his face as he flew to me.

I stood my ground, ready on what he was going to throw at me. But then my attention flicker to something in the distance. Something from behind him and my eyes widen as i realize what it was and what was about to happen. And maybe it was luck when Natsu was already in front of me i didn't think twice and shove him harshly from the side just before the blast could hit him.

All of a sudden, silence had filled me. It was silent, no sound was heard and then my ears starts to ring as i felt my heart pounds and nothing.

Natsu landed on the ground harshly. He has heard it, a sound of something coming but being blinded by rage it does not register to his mind of the current threat that was approaching. What he remember was being shoved to the ground as Enlil pushed him away. At first he thought it was an attack but when he was about to hit her earlier he noticed her eyes flicker on something behind him and widen a bit just before she felt the shove from his body.

Turning to look up to where the girl was Natsu was met with a sight. His eyes widen in horror seeing Enlil standing there. A blank look on her face, her body was still and not moving but what really caught his attention was the hole on her chest. A hole where her heart was supposed to be and there was nothing. The hole came on the front and through her back as blood was quick to drench her traveling clothes and cloak. He froze. An unknown pain suddenly was felt inside him seeing her like that. He felt like his blood ran out of his body at the sudden coldness he was feeling. He can't speak, his body felt petrified as he stared. His eyes shakes as tears starts to cloud his eyes.

Even though he was fighting her earlier. Mad and angry at her, Natsu did not wish to see her like that. To see something like that to happen to her. Because deep inside she is family. Just like how it was with Laxus before, after all the things he did to them and everyone on the guild. Natsu still see him as part of his family even though he got exiled after that. And now seeing Enlil in that state, all of the anger vanished instantly.

" Enlil! " Natsu screams.

Just as he got back on his feet, a light shone everywhere before Natsu felt like something had ran through him. Like something got refresh before it disappears in a second. He blinks and his eyes met Enlil's own eyes also staring at him. It just when he saw Enlil's eyes darted from behind him that he realizes it. It felt like dejavu. Like it already happened and he can see it through her eyes as well, the look of realization. And without thinking much Natsu rotate his body as he puff his cheeks taking a deep breath before releasing it.

"FIRE DRAGON'S ROAR!"

The attack hit the mini dragon standing from a distance that was about to hit them with a blast. His feet touches the ground in front of the girl, just as the smoke dissipate and reveal the roasted dragon on the ground. There was a moment of silence around them before Natsu turn to look at the girl. Enlil was still in shock. What just happened gives her a flashes of something, she saw herself got hit with that blast after pushing Natsu to take the hit. She felt it hit her and everything before the silence that follows.

Natsu was the same, he was reliving the scenes he had saw earlier. It was a sight that will hunt him and probably will give him a nightmare but he was just relieved that it didn't really happen as his eyes goes back to the girl. He can see the wounds and bruises she got from their fight and he slightly felt guilty about it but what she did to their friends was not something he should just ignore.

Enlil took a breath before looking at the boy in front of her. She can see that the anger was gone and seems like he had calm down to which she was thankful for.

" I don't know what happened just now or what i really did but can we just talk it out later? There was much more pressing matters other than fighting each other. And everyone needs us. We can continue this later, Natsu" she said firmly. Natsu just nodded his head before turning away from the girl. He did not say anything before running off quickly.

For a moment, Enlil just stood there her mind was still racing on what happened but it's not the time for that. She needs to move and help. And so, despite of the confusion and questions on her mind, Enlil run off on the opposite direction.
