Chapter 10

Friday

It had been a few days since the whole Charlie situation and as you can imagine I'd been in even more trouble since then, in lighter news me and Luke had made up he kept apologising until I gave in atleast someone missed his little sister but it still didn't help my current situation.

There was blinding strikes of lightning and the crackling sound of thunder filled the atmosphere, i lay straight on my back in my bed looking over to my window, shrieking as the thick yellow light appears.

Now the truth is I've always been afraid of thunderstorms, and my family knows it hence why their all currently waiting for me to ask if I can sleep with one of them tonight, you see normally I'd stay with Ella however she's at Lexi's house doing who knows what, and abandoning me in this hell hole, but they treat me like a baby and this will just be another thing to get under my skin about so no I will not give in to it. And I bet your wondering why can't you go to one of you friends house, well short answer, I'm grounded for defying my older brothers wishes, what's new there?

Worst thing is I don't even have my phone so no distractions, I could always go downstairs but their watching horror movies and I am not a fan of horror movies.

Stuck in my own thoughts there's a squeak at my door that's makes me jump out of my bed, only to reveal my older brother Luke, "Hey Grace, it's family movie night, Tyler says you can't miss it" he states waiting by my door, "fine" i huffed stomping my feet, to look intimidating, although thinking about it I'm in fluffy teddy bear pyjamas, Luke just chuckles and picks up my pillow and blanket along with his and motions for me to follow him to the movie room.

The movie room was my favourite room in the house it had two sofas in the front and one big one that stretched across the entire back on the room which split into three parts.

We all had assigned seats we always have had we tended to sit in twos however if there was extra space someone would get a sofa to themselves.

He makes his way to his seat, dumping his stuff on it before bringing mine to my seat, Luke is the best brother sometimes, he can be so nice. I looked around and saw no one else was here yet, it was just us two so I wonder where everyone else is.

Just then Ashton and Tommy walk in with everybody's go to movie snacks, Tommy taking his spot next to Luke and Ashton sat on the back giving me an odd look. "You tell her what movie were watching?" Ashton asks Luke and he shakes his head before replying with "Tyler said she had to be here for movie night so I haven't told her yet" their talking as if I'm not here.

Tommy walks over to me passing me popcorn, Diet Coke and chocolate for the movie, "thanks Tom" I say and he just ruffles my hair, " no problem kiddo" he teases and I roll my eyes at his childish behaviour. Soon enough nearly everyone is in here and we're just waiting on Chase and Dean. But then the brooding duo walk through the door chase smirking at the sight of me curled up in my blanket with my book I retrieved from my room moments ago.

"What are you looking at?" I snarled at him we still weren't on the best of terms, he takes every little chance he gets to pick on me and it's unfair. He just smirks before saying "what?, I can't look at my adorable, innocent, clueless little sister?" He states moving to pinch my cheeks but I slap his hands away, so he just smirks and sits down knowing he accomplished his goal to humiliate me, worst part is I have to sit next to him our seating arrangement has been set in stone for years nobody moves unless they're told to and with Elle not here to protect me, I'm screwed.

Suddenly a crash of thunder is heard and I jump to my feet with a squeal, "oh shit, I forgot you were afraid of storms-" dean starts laughing, before Ashton continues, "-that's gonna make this so much more interesting" I just rolled my eyes before glaring at the two older boys sat next to each other,"come on guys leave her alone, it's punishment enough I forced her down here" Tyler says and I smile contentedly knowing I won for now before sitting in my seat.

Then the movie screen flashed up, words read, 'scream', I'd seen scream before so it definitely could've been a worse scary movie but of course one of them had to speak up about it, "guys it's rated R and Grace is here"  Luke spoke up at least he did it because he knew I wouldn't be able to watch it all the way through. "Yeah and it has sex in it" Tommy speaks up and I open my mouth in shock that that's what he's bothered about. "Yeah, maybe not this movie then" dean says but I needed to stop him, I knew I could handle this movie, "Seriously guys, your changing the movie because it has sex in it I'm 14 I know what sex is alright so chill out, and just watch the movie, I'll even cover my eyes if your that bothered" I rant and they all turn around to stare at me, before Tyler breaks the silence "fine but don't come crying to us when your uncomfortable" he says and I just nod.

Dean presses play on the film, and I was already on edge, I had forgotten how scary this movie really was, Casey Beckers death was one of the most brutal, and gasped watching it, hiding my face in the pillow beside me, seeing her hung from the tree, with her insides hanging out, terrified me so much I jumped and landed on someone before hiding my head in their sweatshirt. Luckily what followed wasn't as scary so I could turn back to the screen.

But being as comfortable as I was I forgot who I was currently layed on, I look up to see chase watching the film with one arm around me. So I stayed there and carried on watching the film until I fell asleep for about and hour, before waking up and panicking where I was until I realised the films still playing. So I watched it but my eyes were heavily drooping and I was fighting to stay awake the only sound keeping my eyes shutting was the thunderclaps, which forced me closer into chase every time, hiding my face and clinging to him.

The movie was finally over and everyone was surprised to see id actually made it through it,
"Well you were awfully quiet during that movie" Tyler states as I get off chase and go to pick up my things so I can leave. "Mhm" I shrugged, so they wouldn't ask anymore questions but of course they did, "you weren't scared?" Tom asks and I shake my head a little too quickly, " Sure Grace, you weren't scared" Ashton says smirking at the fact he knew I was curled up to chase the entire time. It was obvious I had been scared I even had tear stained cheeks, thunder erupted again causing me to shriek and latch myself onto chase once again. Tommy laughed, " your such a baby" "I am not" I muffled into chases chest, my arms around his neck. "Right well Grace it's passed your bedtime anyway so, Chase can you take her up?" Tyler asks and dean scoffs " what she can't walk now?" He says gruffly I hadn't heard him speak much. "Oh come on dean it'd take more than all of us to get her of chase now" Tom laughs and Luke punches him in the arm, "Leave her alone, she's aloud to be scared" he says defending me.

"Come on then baby" Chase mocks standing with me still latched onto him, he gets up and walks me to my room where he tries to put me down but I don't let go, "come on Grace, I don't want to miss the next movie" he complains trying to rip me off of him, after trying to pull me off he gave up and took me back to the movie room laying down, so I didn't have to move just my arms under his arms I wasn't going to be alone during a thunderstorm. They all gave him a look of confusion and he explained that he couldn't get me to let go, Tyler even threatened me to go upstairs or I'm grounded for longer but no I wouldn't leave chase,  so I stayed with him until their movie was over and they all went up to sleep, he went to my room and put me in bed this time I let go, I expected him to just leave but he tucked me in and walked out closing the door behind him, I was officially in the dark, the nightmares were about to start.
