I sat beside Randy's side, listening to the machine's beep. When I woke up this morning Stu was gone and I regretted what happened. The Chief of Police wanted Sidney and I to go to some safe house tonight. They wanted us to go yesterday night after Randy had been stabbed but I refused. Sidney ended up staying too because I didn't want to go.
Tonight, I had to convince her to just go. It took a little to get her to agree but eventually, with Hallie's help, she agreed to go. There was a knock on the door, and a nurse came in. "I'm sorry, hun, but visiting hours end in five minutes." I nodded, "okay. I'm just going to say goodbye, and then I'll leave," I told her. She gave me a small smile, "Take you time." She closed the door on her way out, and I turned back to look at Randy.
"I'll be…I'll see you soon. Don't worry, nothing should happen to you. This floor is extra secure, and it's a different hospital than the one I was in. Plus, it's the ICU, and you need to be let in by a nurse. I made sure they had extra security here with you. Don't do anything stupid, like die or anything." I grabbed my jacket, pulled it on, and gently squeezed his hand before leaving.
The two detectives that were in charge of following, Grant and Sanchez followed me out of the ICU wing and to the elevators. "We can go back to your dorm so you can grab a bag. Then we are instructed to take you to the safe house with your sister." I rolled my eyes. "Yes, because the killer won't find us at a safe house." The elevator dings and the doors open to the lobby.
We got back to the dorm, and I headed upstairs to pack a bag. I set my duffle bag in the bed and packed a few things. After zipping it, I slung it over my shoulder and headed for the door. Before I could open it, though, it was flung open, Sidney came in and slammed it shut. "Sid? What the fuck?" She quickly locked it and turned to me. "They're dead."
"Who?" I asked. "The detectives mine and yours. And…Hallie. He just showed up while we were at a red light. He killed one of them then got in the car and ran us into a construction site killing the other. He was knocked out when me and Hallie got out of the car. We were going to run but I needed to know who it was. I needed to know so I went back but he was gone. When I turned back to tell Hallie he came up behind her and…"
"Oh, my god. Okay. Okay. We can't stay here. We're sitting ducks! Where did you see him last?" I asked. "He was behind me until I got back on campus and then he just disappeared." I walked over to my nightstand and pulled the draw open. I stopped when I saw a knife with a stick note attached to it. "Use it."
When the fuck did he put that in there? Why the fuck did he put that in there? I turned my head to see Sidney's back facing me so I quickly took the knife and put it between my jeans and belt. I grabbed the pepper spray and put it in my pocket. It wouldn't do much with the mask on. Well maybe it will if I aim for the mesh that covers the eyes. "Let's go."
We checked the hall before heading for the stairwell. We were careful while defending the stairs as well, not wanting to get caught off guard by the killer jumping out from one of the doors to the other two floors. As soon as we were outside I gasped. Grant and Sanchez were both dead like Sidney had said.
Grant was on the ground with his throat slit. Sanchez was still in the car, killed just the way Grant was. Blood splattered the windshield and the driver's side window. Like the killer had climbed into the seat and reached around. Sidney started to hit my arm in a frantic motion. "What?" I asked, looking at her. She pointed towards the sidewalk and when I looked up there he was.
The killer stood there in that god awful costume, knife in hand, which he used to wave at us. I grabbed Sidney's hand and ran. We ran across campus until we heard music coming from the theater building. Sidney yanked me back and directed me into the building. When I looked back to check where ghostface was, he was nowhere to be seen.
I let go of Sidney's hand as she pushed open the theater doors. The gloomy music of the play she was supposed to in got louder. The lights were on but there was nobody here. "Hello?" Sidney called out and I cringed. "Really? Do you always greet killer's with a hello?" I hissed. She gave me an annoyed look and walked down the rows of seats calling out to her theater professor. Again there was no answer and that didn't surprise me.
I tried the side door but they were locked so I went back up the way we came and again, locked. "You have got to me fuckimg kidding me!" I looked down to the stage to see Sidney walking across it. I quickly jogged down the aisle and up onto the stage beside her. We both flinched when a clap of fake thunder hit. Sidney tried to open the door on the prop wall but that too was locked.
Another crack of thunder and then the lights went off. I gripped a hold of Sid and we walked away from the door. A spot light flicked on, a stream of bright light centered itself onto us. "Hello?" Sidney called out and I sighed in frustration. "Who's up there?" She asked. "Will you stop with the questions? You know damn well who is up there!" I hissed. Just then the spot light went out and a few of the lights above the stage flicked on.
The sound of something being lowered filled the air and I looked up. A cross was being lowered down from above, a body tied to it. "What the fuck?" I whispered. We stood back until it was completely lowered down. The person tied to it had a mask from the play over his face, he wore nothing but a pair of boxers. I slowly moved forward and quickly removed the mask.
Sidney gasped and came up beside me. The person was Derek, her oh so loving boyfriend. "Derek, oh, my god." She rushed over to him and roused him awake. "Derek, wake up." His eyes fluttered open and he looked at her with half lidded eyes. "Sidney? Oh, thank god. I thought I was going to be up there all night."
She started to try and untie him. "We need to get you untied and leave. He's here," she said. He looked at her confused until he noticed me. "Hey, yn!" He smiled. I raised an eyebrow at him. "Who? Who's here?" He asked. "The killer! He killed the detectives and…and Hallie."
She finished untying one of his hands, and he was quick to untie the other while she did his ankles. As soon as his feet hit the stage floor the door to the prop wall opened. Sidney's head whipped around to look at me, and I shrugged. We were both in shock.
