"Lady Urbosa, I can't agree with your discussion. We shouldn't allow the potential next demon king to walk among us." Says an elderly old Gerudo woman looking up at Urbosa who is sitting on her throne.

"And how would you handle the first birth of a male Gerudo since the Demon King?" Urbosa asks as the eldery woman looks down.

"I believe we need to take care of the problem before it has the chance to take root." Explains the eldery Gerudo and Urbosa looks at her unimpressed.

"Don't sugar coat your words. I want to hear you say what you truly mean." Urbosa orders as old woman grunts.

"We should take the child's life so that the possibility of him becoming the next demon king has no chance!" Exclaims the advisor. "Lady Urbosa, you must understand tensions are still high between the Gerudo and the rest of Hyrule due to the actions of Ganondorf. If history repeats with the birth of this voe, the entirety of Hyrule  could unite against us and wipe the Gerudo off the map." The old woman explains as Urbosa sighs before standing up.

"Tell me, Veera, if this were your child, how would you want this to be handled?" Urbosa asks as she begins walking down the stairs.

"I would do whatever is best for the Gerudo. Even if it means the death of my child." Veera explains

"Quite easy to answer when it isn't actually your child's life on the line. If I'm not mistaken, you've never had any children?" Urbosa asks as Veera nods her head. "Then I feel it's unjust to listen to you on a matter that decides the fate of another's child," Uborsa states as Veera stands and looks Urbosa in the eyes.

"With all due respect, you've not yet bared any children either. So how are you more qualified than I?" Veera asks a bit, angry as Urbosa crosses her arms.

"You're right. I haven't, nor do I intend to have children of my own, but I've been raising Riju like my own since our mother's passing. So, in some ways, I can comprehend the situation from Nirvana's perspective." Urbosa explains as she looks down at Veera. "However, do not mistake my understanding for foolishness. The boy will be monitored, and if he begins to show signs of turning out like Ganondorf, the proper actions will be taken. Now, you are dismissed." With that, Veera turns and begins walking toward the exit.

Once outside and down the stairs, the old woman bites her nail as a vein appears on her forehead. "Foolish girl. She wasn't even an idea when the demon king nearly conquered Hyrule. I won't allow history to repeat itself. I will protect the Gerudo no matter the cost." Veera tells herself as she vanishes into the crowd of Gerudos going about their daily lives.

Halfway across Gerudo town, we find Nirvana nursing her baby as Rajeet and a Hylian woman put down a crib. "Alright, thanks for the help," Rajeet says as the Hylian woman nods before leaving.

Rajeet leans back on the crib while looking at her sister. Despite once being a fearsome and bloodthirsty warrior who was feared all across Hyrule, she quite easily fits into the doting mother archetype. A major and jarring transition to be sure, but a welcome one when it comes to raising a child. Honestly, it the idea of the old Nirvana being a parent makes Rajeet afraid.

Glancing over her shoulder, Nirvana notices her sister staring at her. "What, am I doing it wrong," Nirvana asks as Rajeet chuckles to herself.

"How would I know? I don't have kids." Rajeets laughs as Nirvana laughs with her. "So still trying to come up with a name?" Rajeet asks as her sister nods her head.

"Yeah, it might be hard to believe, but all the names I had in mind were for a girl." The laughter of the sisters fills the room again as the baby stops his nursing and laughs along with his mother and aunt. "Mommy and Aunty Rajeet are trying to think of a name for you. Do you have any ideas?" Nirvana asks in a joking tone as the baby just laughs and makes those adorable baby noises. Nirvana rubs her chin before booping her child's nose. "Good suggestion, but I think we can do better." Nirvana chuckles as Rajeet snaps her fingers.

"How about Jeff, I hear that's a popular name among Hylian voes," Rajeet suggests as Nirvana gives her sister a look that shows her disapproval of that name better than words ever could. "Yeah, that face doesn't fit a Jeff. Why not just name him after your husband? I mean, you must have liked his name if you married him. Plus, I'd finally get to learn it." Rajeet whispers that last part as Nirvana looks at her child or, more specifically, at her child's crystal blue eyes, the same eyes as his father's.

"I can't do that. My husband is a great man, but he wanted his child to be an even better person than him. Wouldn't be right for them to have the same name." Nirvana explains as Rajeet grows due to the fact that yet again, her attempt to learn anything about this ever-illusive husband has failed yet again.

"Alright then, how about something that meant a lot to the both of you? You're named after the watering hole where our parents met." Rajeet suggests as Nirvana thinks about that. It's a good idea, but as she looks through her memories, nothing jumps to mind that would make a good name. Suddenly, a memory she both cherishes and hates fills her head.

She sits on the roof of a house in a Hylian village. The night sky is beautiful and is made all the better due to the man beside her. A beautiful man with a muscular yet lean physique, having a long flowing mane of hair. He's dressed in a worn-out and slightly ripped red and dark green tunic stained with dirt due to his farm work.

"Nirvana, hear me and hear me well." The man says as he takes his beloved's hand and raises it next to his own. "These rings not only signify our marriage and our love for one another. They link me with you and you with I." The man continues. "So no matter the distance between us, no matter how long we go without the other's embrace, or no matter the length of time we go without even seeing each other, we will always be by the other's side. This link will not only keep us together until the end of time but the end of all things as well." The man explains as he kisses his wife's cheek. She gives a smirk and looks down at her ring.

"This link you speak of. It's something I'm honored to have." Nirvana states with a smile as she rests her head on her husband's shoulder

With that memory recalled, Nirvana looks down at her child before she speaks. "Link"

"What?" Rajeet asks, not hearing the name her sister suggested.

"Link, your name will be Link. How does that sound to you, my little desert flower." Nirvana asks her baby while holding him up high as the child gives a loud and cheerful laugh while waving wildly toward his mother.

"Link, a strange name to be sure, but it certainly makes him happy," Rajeet says under her breath with a smile as she watches a mother repeat the name to her son and receive a cheerful laugh from him each time.

"It certainly does," Nirvana says with a smile while looking up at her precious child.
