Before I knew it my foot got tangled with the branches and like a pine tree falls when it gets cut I made a loud thud and crackling noise as my body hit the forest floor with full force. I scrambled to get up with my heart pounding but a hand grabbed my ankle and as I tried to scream another hand covered my mouth. My heart was going so fast I felt like I would have had a heart attack if I wasn't 17. The hands flipped me over quickly and he covered my mouth again before I could even react. His face was red from anger and his nostrils were flared. He had blue eyes that made me freeze with fear. I swallowed loudly trying to breath but I started to cry.

"What did you hear?" He asked in a chilly voice that made me shiver, leaving a trail of goosebumps on my arms and the back of my neck. I shook my head to the best of my ability but that didn't seem to answer what he wanted to know. "What did you hear!?" he yelled. He was so close to my face that his breath brushed my skin. I looked up towards my house wishing I would have made it to that stupid fence. He lifted his hand off of my mouth and asked again a little quieter but still angry "What did you hear?"

"No-noth-nothing" I stuttered I stuttered with dry lips.

"Right!" he said loudly "tell me what you heard before I do something I might regret" he threatened and I felt my eyes get even wider with fear.

"I- I don't know... I don't know what I heard" I answered honestly. I really hadn't had any time to process anything.

"Get away from her! What the fuck is wrong with you!" someone from behind him shouted. I rolled my head slightly to the side and Ace came into view. He seemed enraged and that just gave me the chills. "She won't say anything" he stated as he crouched down next to me "right Harls? You won't say anything... will you?" I quickly responded by shaking my head. The man hesitantly got up and lifted me by my arm. When I was standing on my own to legs I felt like if they might give out from under me. I took a few steps back just staring at the two guys in front of me. The had similar looks but didn't seem to be related at all.

"I- I have to go" I said shaking "dinner... dinner is now" I said jumbling up my words. The man nodded still looking pissed off and Ace just looked like he didn't know quite what to do. I took another 10 steps backwards until I felt the fence. I turned to open it and ran towards my house. My shoes smashed the grass down. I took a big step from the grass to the deck and a familiar creek told me I was home. I swung the door open and jumped inside and closing it as quickly as I could. What if they are still there? Oh my gosh! What if they want to kill me I thought as I leaned my back against the cold crystal door. I gulped and took a deep breath before turning around. I scanned my backyard and the forest edge but there was no trace of them anywhere.

"Sweetie?" I heard my mom's voice behind me and I exhaled. I turned around and surprise hugged her. "Harley! What happened to you?" She said scanning me from head to toe. I looked down at my dirty shirt and grass stained jeans.
