It's day 4 of our trip. I really don't think Billie heard me that night I confessed my feelings, which is good. I really need to find somebody else to help me get over her, I know that sounds horrible. But I gotta start somewhere right? There's an after-party happening tonight for the artist that performed at the festival today. So naturally all of us are going. Thankfully Ive talked to some of the artist, so there will be a few other familiar faces for me at least. Billie is pretty excited about it, and I guess me too.
"Haven't seen you this excited for a party before" Billie laugh
"Well who knows, I might get lucky, talked to a girl earlier and she seems nice ya know. Hoping she'd be at the party"
"You did? Who?" She sounded annoyed for some reason
"Someone who I know for sure isn't straight, I have to stop being in love with a straight girl, ain't good for my heart"
"But who is she?"
"Calm down, you'll see her later. Damn why are you so pressed about it?"
"I mean who is this straight girl you been In love with, I didn't know you were into someone"
She got me there fuck.
"Uhhh well I guess there are some things that I kept to my self"
"Hmmm" she hummed, what on earth is going on inside her head "so a girl who you think is straight that you know for a while huh" she bit her bottom lip "how would you know she's straight though?" she said staring into my eyes
"I just know okay, besides if she wasn't Im sure she would've told me" I say starting to get annoyed
"Maybe she doesn't know it yet" she says softly.
"Can we just drop it please and lets leave?"

The moment we arrived Billie was immediately being pulled left and right in a good way though. I decided to mingle on my own though after some time,it was starting to be a lil awkward for me and some liquid courage wont hurt.
"Gin and tonic please" I say to the bartender
"I would not have pictured you as a gin person" a voice said
"Really? What would you have pictured me with then?" i grin at the familiar face
"Honestly Vodka" Lani says
"ouh defintely not, that's on the bottom of my list of drinks"
There wasn't much mingling at the end. I sat by the bar with Lani and talked throughout the whole night, more like flirting back and forth honestly. I would see Billie in the distance talking to other famous people but her eyes would always be staring in my direction. Almost everytime i look in her direction, she would already be looking at me. I tried to pay no attention to it, after all the goal is to get over Billie.
"I'm gonna be honest though, I'm actually trying to get over someone" I blurted out,
"Love the honesty, dont worry about it, I'm just having fun, besides" she smiles before leaning into my ear "if you ever wanna make her jealous, we can make out somewhere the paps can see" with that i choked on my drink
She giggle at my reaction and give me a napkin, "you're cute" she continues, I dont know if my face can get any more red
"You really dont care about the media eh?" i try to divert the conversation
"I try to not let it bother me, they're gonna say whatever they're gonna say you know. At least I know my own truth. it wasn't easy at first of course, especially when they find out I'm not straight" She explained
