Danny walked into the guest room to see what it looked like, nothing fancy since it was only used for when they had guests. It was still a lot nicer than Danny's old room. He walked into it and tried to think how he wanted to decorate it but still felt weird about it. How could they be so nice? This was their home and they were just letting him move in, and they would pay for decorations and things he wanted? It made no sense to him. Taylor leaned against the doorframe watching Danny with a small smile on his face. Danny looked over at him and smiled back but then sighed.
"Taylor are you sure this is okay? Like with your parents and everything".
"Of course it is, they love you". Taylor walked into the room and sat down on the bed next to him.
"But decorations and all that.. That's not cheap".
"Danny they wouldn't have offered it if they didn't want to, they'll be happy the room wont look so boring and will be used, they always wanted another son" He teased and Danny rolled his eyes and laid back on the bed, Taylor laid back with him. "Stop stressing and think of the positives, I promise everything is okay". Danny looked at him and gave him a small smile.
"You're right, I'll try to get out of my head."
"I'll be here every time you struggle with that" Taylor smiled and kissed his cheek. "Want to rest? Or we can go to the store and look at things to buy" He suggested.
"Store sounds good." Danny sat up from the bed and Taylor smiled and nodded. "My mom will drive us, come on" Taylor grabbed Danny's wrist lightly and pulled him off the bed and into the living room where his mother was typing on her laptop. "Hey can we go to the store to look at things for his room? Could you drive us?" He asked.
"Of course! That's a great idea". She closed her laptop and grabbed her purse and keys. Taylor and Danny walked outside towards her car and waited for her to unlock it.
"So how do you think you want to decorate it? Emo themed? Pink? Basic and boring?" Taylor asked and laughed and Danny laughed along with him. "Well see when we get to the store". "Ooh a surprise! I love that!". Taylor was definitely more excited than Danny was which wasn't a bad thing. Rose locked the front door behind her and unlocked the car for them. Taylor got in the front seat and Danny got in the back. It was a Ford Focus, looked a bit older but ran great. Danny looked out the window as she drove towards the outlet mall, it was a weekday so it wasn't super packed. Rose easily found a spot and turned the car off. "Here's my credit card, use it on whatever, I'm going to do some grocery shopping, call me when you guys are done" Rose handed the card to Taylor.
"Thanks mom!" He took the credit card and put it in his pocket and got out of the car and closed the door behind him. Danny smiled and opened the door.
"Thank you so much, I really appreciate this." he smiled.
"Don't need to thank me sweetie, were family now". They both smiled and Danny and her got out of the car and they both closed their doors. The car made a quiet beep noise from her locking it and they went in and headed to different stores. Danny and Taylor went into Bed, Bath, and Beyond, Taylor grabbed a cart and Danny walked next to him.
"Okay first step priorities, sheets and blankets and all that stuff" Taylor suggested.
"Don't you have those on the bed already?" He asked.
"Yeah but don't you want your own? Besides the blankets are such an ugly color, like grey? Ew!".
Danny rolled his eyes and laughed. "You're so picky".
"No I have standards" Taylor laughed and they walked down the sheets section. Taylor got normal white sheets and than they both looked at the blankets. "See anything you like?" He asked. Danny picked up a blue and black checkered pattern. "Ooh good choice!" Taylor grabbed it and put it in the cart. They walked down each aisle and started picking decorations and things that caught Danny's eyes. Eventually the cart was full and they headed to the checkout line. Taylor messaged his mom letting her know they were on line. Once they got to the cashier they started taking things out of the cart and watched her ring it up. Danny saw the price which made him nervous but he needed to relax.
The cashier handed Taylor the receipt and put everything back into the cart. "Have a nice day" the cashier told the both of them and they both walked out of the store. Rose was already putting a few groceries in her trunk. "Perfect timing! Did you boys find everything okay?" She asked and they both nodded. They all helped put everything into the trunk and Danny put the cart back where it belongs. Rose got in the drivers seat and started up the car and Taylor sat up front with Danny in the back and headed back home.
