The sun rose, and Hoseok and Seung-jae were the first ones awake. They checked their watches and saw it was 5 am. Since they hadn't gone to wash yesterday like the others, they decided to go to the lake Jungkook and Taehyung had mentioned.
When they returned, they could see inside the cave clearly. Everyone was still asleep, but what caught their attention was the way they were all cuddled up together. Jungkook was back hugging Taehyung, who was doing the same with Jimin, who was hugging Yoongi, and Yoongi was hugging Jimin back. At the far end of the cave, Namjoon and Jin were cuddling too.
Hoseok wished he had a phone to take a picture of this heartwarming moment. It was beautiful to see how they found comfort and safety in each other's arms, even in the middle of a scary zombie apocalypse. They formed a close-knit group, relying on each other for support and love.
"I don't think they're going to wake up soon. Want to go for a walk? Maybe we can find something to eat," Seung-jae suggested to Hoseok. They both agreed and set off on their little expedition, hopeful to find some sustenance. After some time, they managed to catch a few fishes. It wasn't much, but it would be a satisfying meal.
When they returned they saw all of them were awake. After finishing eating and completing their other necessary activities, the group gathered together to discuss their next plan.
The area they were in seemed relatively safe, but they couldn't be certain of what lay ahead if they left. The fear of encountering more zombies haunted their thoughts. Each member had their own opinions and concerns.
"We can't be sure if this place is safe. What if there are zombies lurking around? The dense forest doesn't give us much room to escape if we get attacked," Namjoon expressed his worries, and Jin and Taehyung & Jungkook nodded in agreement. Yoongi and Jimin remained silent, while Hoseok and Seungjae voiced their opposition.
"But we don't have food. How will we survive outside this forest?"
"We have enough food for now, with what we took from the previous military base. If it starts running out, we can scavenge from abandoned shops. Staying here, we don't know which fruits are safe to eat," Jungkook said
"I want to stay here," Jimin's voice broke the silence, catching everyone's attention. Jin turned to Jimin, his eyes filled with concern.
"Why do you want to stay?" he asked, hoping to understand the reasons behind Jimin's decision.
"I'm too scared to leave this place. I think I'll get eaten by zombies. It's better if I stay," Jimin responded, avoiding eye contact. His words carried a hint of hesitation and doubt like he was lying ?
Confusion and worry filled the air as the other members processed Jimin's response. They couldn't comprehend why he would suddenly express such fear and doubt. To them, Jimin had always been brave and resilient, facing the dangers of their world with a determined spirit. Something seemed off, but they couldn't quite put their finger on it.
"If you're staying, then I'm staying too," Yoongi declared firmly, surprising everyone with his sudden decision.
"But why, Yoongi? It doesn't make sense for you to stay just because I want to stay. You should go with the others," he urged, a mix of frustration and concern in his words.
Yoongi paused, choosing his words carefully "No, I don't want us to be separated," he finally said, his voice filled with a depth of emotion that only Jimin could fully understand. "We've come this far together, and I can't imagine leaving you behind. We're a team, Jimin. We'll face whatever comes our way together."
Jimin's heart swelled with gratitude, his eyes welling up with unshed tears. He looked at Yoongi, and in that moment, it felt as if their souls were communicating without the need for words. Yoongi understood the depths of Jimin's fear and vulnerability, and Jimin knew that Yoongi would be there for him no matter what.
With a shaky but determined voice, Jimin agreed, "Okay, I'll come then." A sense of relief washed over him as Yoongi tightened his grip on Jimin's hand, silently promising that he would be there to support and protect him. It was a small gesture, but it spoke volumes, assuring Jimin that he was not alone in this journey.
After the intense discussion about their next steps, the group reached a consensus. They would leave the safety of the forest together, embarking on a treacherous journey towards the military base. United by their bond and shared experiences, they were determined to face the dangers that lay ahead as a cohesive unit.
However, a lingering question hung in the air: would they be able to stay together throughout the journey, or would circumstances force them apart?
