Harry:

I sat down on the train, right across from Ron, Hermione, Luna, and Ginny. Ron and Hermione were playing a game of cards, courtesy of Mr. Weasley, and Luna was asleep on Ginny's lap. Ginny, however, was actively ignoring me. We never really got back on good terms after I broke up with her.

A few minutes into the ride, the door opened. A stressed looking Malfoy came in, followed by Parkinson and Zabini. Zabini smirked and sat next to Ron, pushing Hermione out of the way. She humphed and sat next to me, as well as Parkinson and Malfoy. Malfoy looked over at me and frowned. His eyes were red, with dark circles under them. He looked quite different with blue and pink streaks in his hair, and he was wearing a bright blue oversized sweatshirt and purple shorts. He sat next to me and pulled his legs up to his chest. I turned to Malfoy and blinked. He blinked back.

"What're you looking at?" He whispered, the normal condescending tone almost gone.

"You." I whispered back.

He ducked his head. "You're an idiot." He replied.

Hermione raised an eyebrow and scooted away from Parkinson. "Uhhh?" She drawled on.

Parkinson elbowed her and turned to Malfoy, giving him a sly grin. "C'mon Granger. Let the lovebirds flirt." Malfoy reached across me and smacked her arm. "Ow! Jeez, come on Dray! That hurt." Malfoy simply smiled at her.

A few hours later, we finally got to Hogwarts. I pulled Malfoy up and Zabini and Parkinson did the same with Ron and Hermione. We walked to one of the carriages. I patted one of the Thestrals. Luna came up behind me, pulling Ginny along.

"We'll see you later." Ginny said, trying to get Luna away from admiring the Thestrals.

I nodded and the others and I went into the carriage. I sat across from Malfoy and he looked out the window. A minute or so later he dozed off. I turned to Zabini and Parkinson. "So..." I started awkwardly.

Parkinson eyed me. "Hm?"

Zabini smirked.

"Well, I feel odd right now." I continued.

Zabini raised an eyebrow. "Why?"

"We're supposed enemies, and you guys aren't really acting like it. Neither are we actually. It's just strange." I said, looking at everyone except Malfoy. For some reason, I was afraid that I would wake him up.

Parkinson put her hands behind her head. "Didn't we make up after the war?"

I nodded. "Yeah, but we never talked after. We just stopped fighting."

Zabini gave me a genuine smile. "Welp, we can change that. Do you guys wanna be friends?"

Hermione and Ron nodded, but I stopped to think for a second, then shrugged. "Sure." I finally glanced at Malfoy and he looked more peaceful than in real life. "It's kind of weird to go by last names, y'know?"

Parkinson nodded. "Okey-dokey. Harry it is."

I smiled. "Pansy it is."

Ron burst out laughing. "For some reason, this is the funniest thing I've seen in days." Hermione frowned and hit his arm.

During all the conversation and noise, Draco had woken up. He yawned and looked around at us. "Wha?" He murmured, peeling his face off the window.

Blaise patted his arm. "We all agreed to be friends and go on a first name basis. You good with that?" When Draco nodded, everyone smiled a little. "Now that that's settled, I feel a bit better. Bullying you guys got less fun after a few years." Blaise continued.

Draco looked down. "Sorry about that." He muttered.

I patted his leg. "Relax, everything's good."

He smiled and picked my hand off his leg and held it. I blushed and looked out the window, and he did too. We were almost to Hogwarts.

Another few minutes later, we finally got there. I pulled Draco out, followed by the others. We passed Neville and he waved. I waved back, but Draco pulled me into the familiar castle. All of the eighth years gathered in the room of requirement in front of Headmistress McGonagall.

"Okay children. Because around half of you are back, instead of sharing a room with 4-5 people, you only need to share with one other." Headmistress McGonagall said, having us all sit.

Seamus raised his hand and McGonagall nodded. "Can we pick our roommate?" He asked, wrapping an arm around Dean.

"Yes, you can, but there are rules. In bed at ten, and no funny business with anyone." This generated a bunch of laughs from the immature young adults. "Come on, quickly pick your roommates."

I moved to get Ron, because we've always roomed together and I assumed we would, but Blaise already had a tight hold on his arm, and it didn't look like he was letting go anytime soon. I sighed and turned to Draco. "Well?"

Draco smiled and nodded. We got a room number from Headmistress McGonagall and went into our room. After a few seconds, our trunks appeared in front of the beds. One of them was the Slytherin colors and the other was the Gryffindor colors. Draco sat on the Slytherin bed and I started to put my stuff away.

"So..." Draco muttered, lying on his side.

"Hm?"

"This is sorta weird, y'know." He sat up again and crossed his arms.

I nodded. "I was saying that to Pansy and Blaise. It's kind of odd that we're not fighting." I finished putting my stuff away and sat on my bed, right across from him.

He smiled. "Well, after everything, fighting doesn't seem rational."

I laughed and laid down, putting my arms behind my head. "It really does, doesn't it? Every problem we had is kind of insignificant."

Draco yawned. "Well. I'm gonna go get changed." He grabbed an outfit and changed into it, while I opened a book that I had brought along. He sat next to me on my bed and looked over. "What book are you reading?"

"It's a muggle book. It's about fairy tales and stuff like that." He laid down and looked at the book. "Want to read with me?" He nodded and snuggled under the blankets. A couple minutes later, he was asleep. I patted his head and tried to pick him up, to put him in his bed, but he stayed put. I sighed and smiled a bit, then fell asleep next to him.
