Dan and Alexis sat in a cab, heading to her mother and father's home on the countryside of London. Her nerves were extremely bad. What if they don't like him? What if they don't approve of them?

Her train of thought was interrupted by sudden warmth at her hand. Dan had grabbed it, attempting to calm her. Alexis sighed, leaning on to his shoulder. He kissed her left temple.

"It'll be fine love." Dan whispered against her face. Alexis nodded, closing her eyes as her breathing soothed.

-

"Mum?" Alexis called out, entering the home. She still had a key, so she unlocked the door and let Dan and herself inside.

"COMING, ALEXIS!" She cried, as the sound of running came closer. She emerged from the top of the stairs, stopping in her tracks as she saw Dan. Alexis could tell he was nervous as well, waving hesitantly to her mother. To both of their surprise, she squealed loudly.

"Alexis! You finally brought home a boy! Jeremy come down here, Alexis brought a lad!" Alexis' mum cried. She groaned, snuggling her face into Dan's chest. He chuckled, rubbing her back.

"Well I think she likes me already." He muttered. Alexis rolled her eyes.

"Alexis?" She heard a familiar voice call, head shooting up.

"Joel?" She responded, moving from Dan. From around the corner appeared her cousin, Joel Herts. His hair was a dark brown with specks of blond, and he was much taller than she remembered. He used to be her best friend, until he left for Brazil. She used to wonder why he left, but Alexis assumed it was just because his ex-girlfriend broke his heart, and he needed to get away.

"Oh my god, Joel!" She ran towards him, giving him a huge hug. Joel chuckled, hugging Allexis back.

"Hello, princess." He called her. He and ALexis used to play kingdom, and he was always her knight. She began sobbing, unable to hold her emotions in.

"Hello, my brave knight." He hushed Alexis as she cried. After a few minutes, she stopped, and Joel looked over at Dan, giving him a dirty look.

"Who the hell is that." He muttered to Alexis. She looked at Dan and smiled, waving for him to come over to her. When he got about halfway, Alexis moved over to his side and grabbed his arm.

"Joel, this is my boyfriend, Daniel. Dan, this is my cousin, Joel." She introduced them. Dan nervously stuck his hand out to Joel, but pulled it away once realizing that Joel had no intentions of returning the action.

Joel moved away from ALexis and began circling Dan, eyeing him angrily.

"What do you do for a living?" He asked Dan.

"I-I make YouTube videos.." Daniel responded, causing Joel to scoff. Joel began hammering Dan with questions.

"Where did you go to college? Did you go to college? Have you ever had an actual job? How do you plan to support Alexis if you get married? Do you have any-" Joel was interrupted by Dan breathing heavily and clutching his chest.

"D-Dan, what's wrong?!" Alexis asked, extremely worried. He couldn't speak, so she gave Joel a look that said 'I'll be back for you' and lead Dan upstairs. They passed her mum and dad and entered Alexis' old bedroom, where she helped Dan onto the bed. His breathing had finally started to calm.

"Dan, are you alright?" Alexis asked him, holding his hand tightly. Dan nodded, calming down.

"Just... a minor... panic attack." He stuttered, smiling weakly at me. She nodded, and let go of his hand.

"I'll be back, ok? Get some rest." Alexis told him, kissing his cheek and exiting the room, closing the door behind her. She hurried downstairs, where Joel sat on the couch, acting as if nothing had happened.
