It was a hot day for On Command. Summer was kicking in and the others are sweating af. Even the air conditioner isn't enough to cool them down. CJ thought of going to the mall for a little stroll for them to get away from the heat. Everyone liked the idea. The rest hang out in a mall, doing some shopping, playing arcades, buying groceries, etc. They were about to head out when they ran into a mid-aged couple. The lady looks awfully like Ruby in terms of hair design. It looks poofy, long, and white like Ruby's. In their horror, their faces are also awfully familiar.
Mark: What...?
CJ: ...the f***...?
Ruby's dad: You...
Ruby's mom: Ruby...?
Ruby looks away from them to prevent eye contact.
Ruby: Oh, no...
Vade looks at Ruby with a concerned face and blocks her parents' path.
Vade: Oh, no, you two don't!
Faith: Yeah, back off!
Vade and Faith's yelling got the crowds' attention.
CJ: Thought I recognize you two! Your not getting Ruby back after the hell you pulled her through! At least for her, now that we knew who you two are, we can finally tell everyone who-
Ruby's dad punched CJ hard, sending him crashing into a stall.
CJ: Agh! F*ck!
Vade: Babe!
She runs to him, making sure if he's alright.
Faith: Bro!
She looks back at the parents with fury in her eyes.
Faith: Why the heck did you do that?!
Ruby's dad: Shut it, you little yellow and green gremlin!
Ruby stays back with Mark and is very uncomfortable about this whole situation going on
Ruby's mom: You all better leave out of this. If not, then we'll make you leave by force!
Mark: No! You stay away! I won't let you move an inch closer to her!
Ruby's dad: I'd say... you stay outta this!!!
He proceeds to punch Mark this time on the stomach.
Mark: Gahh!
Mark coughed.
Ruby: Ahh! Mark!
Vade and Faith continues to block their path to reaching Ruby. CJ gets back up and joins in.
CJ: Okay, you're really p***ing us off!
Ruby's father: Well, if you didn't get in our way, then we don't need to punch your idiots like this.
Ruby's mom: You better leave out of this or else!
Mark: N-No... NO!
He stands back up.
Mark: I won't let you touch her this time. She's been through a lot by you for too long.
Ruby's dad: You're leaving us no choice then...
He looks at Ruby with his cold eyes.
Ruby's father: Hey, Ruby. I say you have enough fun with your... playmates...
Ruby's mom: Now come now. You, as our daughter, should respect and obey your parents... NOW!
Ruby slowly clenches her first, letting out all of her pent-up rage against them.
Ruby: Don't you dare call me your DAUGHTER!!!
Ruby's parents, On command, and the crowd jumped in surprise and shock. Ruby just yelled back at her parents, the one thing she has never done in her life before.
Mark: R-Ruby...!
Ruby's mom: You... dare yell at us?!
Ruby: I'm done being f*cking soft! This has gone long enough!
The On Command band watched as Ruby stands up against her parents. She finally cracked her shell off and showed them who she truly is.
Vade: Yeah, show them what you're made of!
Faith: Woo! Go, Ruby! Take that, *ssholes!
Ruby's dad: Shut it now, you little-
Ruby: NO, YOU SHUT UP! I've been tormented by you two for 16 years! You never taught me any values in life! I never learned about friends, family, love, company, or even TRUST! I never understood any of that, but now I knew... that you so-called "parents" are not the family I deserve to live with. My friends... they're my family, the family I deserved to be with... The family I deserved for years. Now that I'm with my true family, I'm never coming back with you... AND NEVER WILL BE!!!
Mark: Ruby...
He shows a wide smile to her, a feeling of exaggerating happiness fills his heart.
Mark: I knew you had it in you, babe!
Ruby blushes about his comment and smiles back. Suddenly, the two main duo themselves, Boyfriend and Girlfriend, showed up through the crowd and dragged their speaker in.
Boyfriend: Beep!
Girlfriend: Well, if any of y'all need music, have our speaker. Show them what you're made of!
Boyfriend: Yeah! Skbep beepbop be beep beepa beepbop boop brep beep beepbop beep beepaa bap beep bapboop be beepaa!
Ruby looks at the duo. Her heart is now filled with hope and freedom. She's then handed with CJ with a mic by Boyfriend as he gives them a thumbs up. Ruby smiles, thanks them, and calls CJ on.
Ruby: CJ!
CJ: Yeah?!
Ruby: Let's do this.
CJ: Let's go!
The duo and On Command: It's SHOWTIME!
A rap battle ensues. The crowd cheer for CJ and Ruby as they start booing at Ruby's parents. Ruby cracks off from her shell and starts singing on her own, giving a greater upper hand against her parents. The rap battle ends afterwards with a satisfying victory for the Starlight Mayhem duo. The two parents looked at her with disbelief. She truly changed from who they think she used to be into who she truly is afterwards. The dad was infuriated and wants to take her out by force, but Mark gets in his way and the crowd starts booing them even more, so much so, some threw trash at them. Even Boyfriend joins in and throws his mic at them. They had no choice but to get out before it gets worse. Ruby watches as the parents run away from the angry crowd. Her spirit began to lift up and as her tear falls, she chuckles and smiles. The trauma she went up against is finally gone. She can finally feel at ease. Mark notices her more lift-up attitude and hugs her close. CJ jumps in and gives Ruby a big ol' hug. The rest of On Command cheer for her and hug each other in a group hug. The crowd cheered for them and even Boyfriend and Girlfriend cheered for them. Boyfriend runs closer with them and Girlfriend as he he asks if they can do a group photo for their celebration of defeating the abusive parents Ruby has. They're welcome and they take a photo together. As they arrive home, Mark put the group photo in a frame and places it at a desk where they can always look at it. Mark stands, always looking at one portion of the pic; him, Ruby, and CJ huddled very close together. He enjoys looking at that very part of the pic. Ruby came by and looks at the photo with him. She smiles as she wipes a tear off her eye. Mark looks back and smiles. Ruby smiles back and asks him if he can join in a board game with the On Command crew. Mark agrees and follows Ruby, all while taking one more glance at the unforgettable moment in the photo.
