Sat underneath the pavillion was Margret Nighthower, her nose buried in her book as a slight wind brushed her dark hair to crash upon her porcelin face, yet she was so transfixed in the love story of romeo and juliet she didnt care. The noises of the birds singing and the light laughs of her siblings playing pall mall. Little did she notice the bridgerton boy staring at her from across the park. His arm linked to Marinas as they walked in absoulte silence.
"Who are you looking at?" Marina questioned, speaking for the first time since they left Grovernors square.
Clearing his throat and snapping his head away from the girl. " No one."
"Is it the Nighthowers?" She began, "I havent had a chance to properly introduce myself, perhaps we shoul go ove-"
"NO," Colin yelled causing the attention of on lookers. "No," he continued composing himself, "we wouldnt want to ruin their game now would we."
"Oh what non sense, come on." Marina said dislocking their arms and gracefully walking over the grass toward the large family.
"Shit." Angelica said noticing the approaching figure.
"Language Angelica!" Scolded Tobias in an instance, "dont use such foal terms its not lady like."
"Ok... well may I ask a question?"
"Of course," Tobias said.
"What is the lady like way of saying Marina is coming over."
"Shit" Tobias whispered.
"Shit." Continued Ophelia.
"So I was right it was shit."
Sensing a change in atmosphere, Maggie lifted her head from her book however immediatly regretted it when she spotted the bouncing smiley dark haired girl waltsing her way right for her, shadowed by the bridgerton boy she knew so well whos head was ducked low and his eyes focused on the blades of grass beaneath him.
"Good day, my name is Marina Thompson, I dont belive we have been properly been introduced."
All five sibliungs all stood wide eyed for a awkward moment. With a cough of the mouth a tiny 'hi' was released through the air causing all eyes to snap to the pavillion.
There she stood, Colin couldnt look away, her light blue frock swaying in the slight wind, she learnt agianst the pillar of the small garden structure, her frame small and closed off and a shy awkward smile plastered across her lips. From a passer by it would seem the girl was just shy, yet for Colin he could see how uncomfortable she was, he could see the numbness in her brown eyes. The eyes that used to hold wonder and excitement and intrigue, now were simply, dark. numb.
"Whats your name?" Marina asked oblivious to the awkward tension in the air.
"Margret."
"Oh very formal, do you have a nick name."
"No." She simply stated, however there was a pause were her eyes locked onto Colins.
"Well we must fix that, if we are going to be friends we need to find a less formal greeting."
"But its her name..." Tobias stated earning a light slap from Ophelia as a warning to ahut up.
"Oh I know! How about Maggie."
