Dissect you? What's that supposed to mean? Exactly how hard will it be to fight this guy?

These were my thoughts as I entered a big bright room, which was probably the dining hall, although the tables had been cast aside to make room for the battle. Law was already there, standing in the middle of the circle created by the members of the crew.

"Whenever you're ready" he said calmly. It looked like he didn't expect me to damage him even by a scratch, like he thought his victory would be absolute. And that pissed me off even more. I hated being underestimated because I was a woman or because I wasn't a Devil Fruit user more than anything. I was going to win this for sure, if only to prove my worth.

I took out a pair of knives from my belt and took a battle position.

"I'm ready" I said as calmly as him.

"Ahem ahem." The bear I had seen earlier took a step forward. "This is a duel between our captain and our new crewmate... oh, I'm sorry, she's not our crewmate yet! She will be if she wins... I'm sorry! Now please start the battle... I'm sorry!" it said and left quickly.

I turned back to Law one second too late. He had raised his right hand in front of him, just like in the wanted poster.

"Room."

A white ring appeared on his palm and then something like a blue sphere spreaded and covered the space around us.

A Devil Fruit user, huh? Iin this case...

Law drew his katana and swinged it towards me. I dodged the hit and started running towards him. I threw one of the knives I was holding to him and took out the one I had hidden in my right boot. Better use my trump card early.

"Shambles."

The knife I had thrown changed its route and was now flying towards me.

"What the..?" I dodged it quickly, but in that moment Law swinged his katana once more. My eyes opened wide in terror when I saw my right arm falling on the ground.

"You bastard!" I yelled. "What do you think you're doing?"

Then I noticed there was no blood. My arm had just been cut off and there wasn't even a spill of blood. After I calmed down, I realised I could still feel my arm's presence, even though faintly.

So that's what he meant... I thought. This power is too creepy... And there goes my trump card too...

My hand was still holding the knife I had taken from my boot. This meant I now had one final chance. If I messed up here, it would be over.

I left the knife I was holding on the ground and took the other one out of my left boot. Just like the one I had just lost, this knife was special. It's now or never.

I ran again, dodging another of his weird attacks, then stopped behind him and quickly stabbed his leg with my knife. He fell down wincing in pain, as his blood tainted his jeans, creating a red stain that was getting bigger and bigger. At the same time, the blue globe disappeared.

"Damn you..." he said, then glared at me. "This knife is..."

"Made of Sea Prism Stone" I said. "I had to find a way to deal with Devil Fruit users, don't you think?" I walked away from him and picked up my right arm. It was a creepy sensation. "I prurposedly missed your vitals and hit you on the leg instead" I said without looking at him. "After all, this wasn't a fight to the dea-"

My left arm was cut off and fell to the ground. At the same time, my body from the waist down was separated from the rest and I fell down, hitting my head on the metal floor. Feeling a bit dizzy and dumbfounded, I raised my neck a bit to see what had happened. Law was standing above me. My Sea Prism Stone knife was lying on the floor, tainted red from his blood. I glanced at his wound and was surprised to see the bleeding had stopped.

"What... did you do..?"

"I'm a doctor" he simply said. "My Fruit, the Ope Ope no Mi, allows me to create a Room, in which I have complete control over the placement and orientation of the objects inside, which makes me a Free Modification Human. In other words, you had already lost when you entered my Room. Although I'll admit you didn't do bad yourself."

I laid back, staring at the ceiling, trying to hold my tears back.

"I...see..." I managed to say. What was I going to tell Kid? I had failed him and all the Kid pirates, including myself. "Just put me back together and I'll get out of here."

"Not so fast" said Law. "You haven't told me your name yet."

What does it matter now, I thought. "It's Azami" I said half-heartedly.

"Your full name" Law demanded.

I remained silent. The only one who knew my full name was Kid. I had told him as a token of my loyalty when I joined his crew and I promised myself I would never say it again. That was my dying father's wish, after all.

On the other hand, if I told him, I could win his trust more easily. Plus, I was tired of keeping it a secret. At that moment, I didn't even care anymore. But still, I wanted only him to know, no one else.

"Come closer" I said. I thought he wouldn't do it, but he kneeled on the ground next to me and put his face above mine. "So?" he asked.

I cast away the feeling of embarrassment and whispered, looking straight in his dark, sparkling eyes.

"Forbes... Forbes D. Azami."
