Strange. When you woke up that morning you hadn't seen Severus. You had reached over only to feel an empty space. You checked the bathroom and he wasn't there either.
The snow seemed to have cleared off a bit. Did he go back to Hogwarts already? You thought to yourself as you walked down the stairs. You were surprised to see Severus sitting by the fireplace. 'Morning.' He mumbled while sipping his coffee. You smiled. 'Good morning Sev.' He hummed as acknowledgement and you walked over to the kitchen to make yourself a cup of coffee.
As you waited for the cup to fill up you started to talk to the man you loved so very dearly. 'I'm surprised you're still here, I thought you would've headed back to Hogwarts since the snow cleared off a bit.' He raised his eyebrow and set his cup down. 'Do you want me to leave?'
Your eyes widened. 'Merlin No- I mean, I just thought you might want to go back home is all..' He chuckled and shuffled over to you. As you were adding milk to your coffee Severus wrapped his arms around your waist and he rested his head on your shoulder. You froze before continuing on your coffee. He hummed. 'Your heart is beating so fast my love.' You inhaled sharply. 'No it's not..' He buried his face in your neck and you could feel the warm breath of your skin. 'Are you sure? You seem quite flustered.' You could hear the slight smirk in his voice. Merlin this man is going to be the death of me. You pulled away from his grasp and walked towards the couch next to the fireplace. As you sat down and wrapped yourself in a blanket you watched Severus shuffle over to you. Charlie chasing at his heels. You noticed his slippers and giggled slightly. 'What's so funny?' He asked as he sat down. 'It's nothing, your slippers are just really cute.' He smiled and pecked your cheek. 'Thanks love.'
