Chapter 8 - Sleeping arrangements

Info / author note : Okay so we're skipping on to the next night because I am too lazy to write what happened the rest of the day. It's the same as per usual. The snow is still there, it's closer to Christmas and so forth. Anyways, enjoy bae <333

You were brushing your teeth and getting ready for bed. The day had been the same as usual, you two both talking, reading and baking, etc. But you wanted to make Severus more comfortable. He had been so nice to you and you hated seeing him sleep on the couch. You wanted to ask him after he came upstairs. Thoughts like 'What if he's uncomfortable with that.' 'What if you do something embarrassing and screw up?' You shook them off as you heard him walk up the stairs. 

He looked at you and smiled. 'You wanted to talk about something?' You nodded. 'Yeah, I've been thinking about, like, the sleeping arrangements and I wanted to know if you wanted to sleep with me?' His eyes widened slightly and red dusted his pale cheeks. You looked at him, confused and tilited your head. Why is he- OH MERLIN WHY DID I PHRASE IT LIKE THAT?!! 'N-no not like that!! I meant if you wanted to sleep in my bed since the couch is uncomfortable. It's not fair to let you sleep on the couch, you're a guest.' 

He looked at you while thinking about your suggestion. You were surprised with his answer. 'Sure.'  You tried to hide your smile, and failed. 'Great! You use the bathroom as you please, I'll be in bed.' He nodded and you walked out of the bathroom. As you sat in bed you started to fidget with your hands. You decided a book would be the best distraction.

Severus came out of the bathroom a little later, he had taken a shower and dried off most of his hair, he had put on a shirt and a pair of shorts. You smiled at him as he sat down next to you in the bed. 'Can we sleep now?' You nodded and blew out the candles next to your bed. 

Both of you were laying under the blanket. Your back was facing him, nervous thoughts drifted in and out of your mind and you shifted around, trying to find a comfortable position. Your breath hitched when you felt Severus lay an arm over your stomach. He pulled you back into his chest. Your whole body was frozen. O MERLIN AGHH *queue internal gay crisis* 

A blush covered your face as he hummed into your shoulder. 'Go to sleep and stop worrying.' You sighed and loosened up a little. That man could read you like an open book. 

Soon you felt your eyes close as you listened to his steady breathing. And you drifted off into a peaceful slumber.

Merlin you hated mornings. They were ultimately the worst part of your day. This morning wasn't so bad though. You woke up to Severus cuddling you. You looked up at his face. He had a small trickle of drool running down his face. His hair pointed in all directions and a few stray strands across his face. You let out a breathy laugh as his nose twitched because of the hair in front of it. Without thinking you gently reached up and brushed away the hair that covered his face. You held a piece in your hand as you lazily twirled it around your finger. You glanced back up at his face. His annoyingly beautiful face, and sighed. What spell have you put me under?

You continued to stare at him until he opened his eyes slightly. His face held an annoyed expression until he looked down at you. His eyes softened as he smiled down at you lightly. 'Good morning.' He said groggily. You smiled. 'Morning.' He looked at you as you played with his hair. You glanced up at him. Your breath hitched as you froze and looked between both his eyes and his lips. He was staring at your eyes. He glanced down at your lips. You both jumped slightly as Charlie scratched at the bed. You looked away from each other awkwardly. You cleared your throat while hiding your face with your hand. 

'Do you want to get up?' He looked at you. 'Sure.' You nodded as he stood up. 'You use the bathroom first, I'll use it after you.' He agreed and headed to the bathroom. You hid your face in your hands and groaned. Why am I like this?

After you had both used the bathroom you headed downstairs. Severus made you both coffee as you fed Charlie and lit the fires. The snow was still piled high. You sighed and sat down, accepting the coffee from Severus. You looked outside. 'It doesn't look like the snow is melting yet.' He hummed and leaned on the counter, looking out the window as well. You both drank your coffee and sat there. 

Wait. You looked at the calendar next to the counter. 'Sev.' 

'Hmm?'

'Tonight is Christmas Eve.' He looked over to the calendar and took a sip of coffee. 'I suppose it is.' You turned your head away from the calendar and looked at him. 'Don't you have family or friends you want to spend the holiday with?' You looked at you and remained quiet. 

'Most of my family either disowned me or passed away.' Your eyes widened. 'Oh, I'm so sorry Sev. I didn't know.' He sighed and looked out the window with a sad smile.

'It's fine. Besides, I am spending Christmas with a friend.' He said as he looked over to you with a smile. You offered him a loving smile in return. Suddenly a thought came to mind. 'I don't have anything for you for Christmas Sev.' He looked at you. 'Neither do I.' You sighed. 

'I hope my company will be a good enough present for you.'

'Don't worry. It's the perfect present.' You both looked at each other and smiled.
