DO NOT MAKE THEM TOO PERFECT
I really hate those Harry Potter or Percy Jackson fanfictions where the main character is smart, nice, funny, talented, good at everything they do, learns thing really quick, can fight in a badass way, play the piano, sing and somehow also knows how to dance.
Okay, that might be a bit exaggerated, but really, there are some that do that to their main characters.
People liked Harry Potter and Katniss Everdeen because they were like real people with flaws. Remember that a character needs to have flaws in order to improve.
A perfect character will not make a good story. What will be the use of throwing different situations at your character if you already know that they're just going to dance their way through it.
Yep. That's about it.
