It wasn't a case of the "right person wrong time" trope. We were the right people at the right time with the wrong plot.
It wasn't supposed to go this way. We were never supposed to break promises or hurt each other.
He was never supposed to hit me and I was never supposed to leave him. But circumstances that were not in our favor screwed up our love story and I could not completely blame him for that.
I am destroyed beyond repair and have nothing left even when I am free. That is my fault, not his.
I am the problem.
I know what I have to do.
It was going to be the right thing, for the both of us.
No more pain, no more suffering.
Just peace. Forever.
Two weeks later...
"Thank you so much," I called out to the woman who had dropped me off at a train station. I was most likely closer to my destination by now since I had finally encountered trains.
I had been traveling for around five to six days and would hopefully cut this trip shorter since I had finally gotten access to a train.
I stepped inside with my bag on my shoulders eyeing the particularly empty train. There was only an old woman, a young pregnant woman, and a teenage boy.
No signs of anyone else.
I headed towards the very back and got extremely comfortable having all the seats to myself.
For the last few days, I had people driving me from town to town. I would ask someone, preferably a woman, to drive me to the nearest town and then when I arrive repeat the cycle.
The plan had appeared to work and I had made it a fair distance without giving any particular people too much trouble or moving with too much suspicion.
Now here I finally was hopefully only hours away from my long-awaited destination.
___
After a good 3 hour ride and a few stops here and there we had finally made it close enough to where I needed to be.
I stepped off the train and began my journey. Walking through the streets I got a lot of stares and discomforting looks. A few cameras here and there and people speaking in hushed tones the instant their eyes met mine.
I ignored the commotion however and walked past the gates of the estate I had spent a week trying to get to.
The workers of the estate looked at me like I was a dead woman walking.
Like they had just seen a ghost.
However, they didn't stop me.
They just watched.
Jeez, this place is huge, I thought to myself.
I had traveled up the killer steps of this mansion until I had reached the front door.
Hopefully, the person behind it could help me.
I took a large inhale and curled my fists together. I lifted one of them and raised it towards the pristine doors.
Just as I was about to place my fist on it to knock, he pulled the door open.
Antonio stood on the other end.
