Jess felt her heart sink but a part of her thought that she was imagining this. "Do you see that?" she asked Raven, who looked confused before following where Jess' finger was pointed.
She stared for a few seconds in disbelief. "Do they think that's funny?" she muttered angrily before pushing herself up on her chair.
She thought it was the reporter who came to the door playing a prank and it pissed her off that someone thought something traumatic her friend had gone through could be considered a joke to someone.
"Woah, you can't go out there" Jess said, putting her hand on Raven's shoulder in attempt to push her back into her seat.
"Why not?" she asked, keeping her balance even when she was pushed. "They clearly think this is some joke"
"No offence, Raven, but theres no way you could take whoever that is in a fight." Jess said, not unfairly. Whoever it was looked muscular under the costume and was at least a foot taller than Raven.
Raven huffed but didn't try to argue, when Jess pulled her hand back from Raven's shoulder, there was blood on her hand.
"What the fuck? Are you okay?" She asked, her eyebrows furrowed in concern. She thought Raven was bleeding from her shoulder and panicked a little bit.
Raven looked at the blood on her hand and shrugged lightly, easing Jess' worried from his calm she seemed. There couldn't be anything wrong if Raven looked so calm. "Oh, that's not mine. That's Caitlin's from the hospital. Her nose was bleeding when she hugged me" she explained.
Jess nodded, her panic disappearing. She turned around and saw that the man in the mask was gone. That was a relief, she didn't feel like getting attacked again.
In Luna's house, her and Lisa were sitting in the middle of the living room with a large pile of pills in every colour you could imagine laying in front of them.
They had ziplock bags and were arranging them into different bags based on colour, whilst listening to music and talking about the events of the night prior.
Since neither of them had actually been there, they were hypothysing what could have actually happened during the car crash.
"Maybe, the ghost of the witch pushed the car off the road" Luna suggested, to which Lisa rolled her eyes.
"Shut up, how strong do you think this witch is?" She said, putting a handful of red pills into her bag.
"She's a witch, Lisa. She obviously did magic" Luna said, like this was something Lisa should know. Because of course witches were just going around pushing cars off the road all the time.
"I told you not to take any of the drugs" Lisa joked before hearing something in the next room over. It sounded like someone walking over creaky floorboards.
There was someone here.
Lisa pushed herself up from the ground, pressing her finger to her lips to get Luna to be quiet.
Of course, it didn't work. "What is it?" Luna said, his voice loud enough to be heard in the other room where Lisa suspected the intruder to be.
"Shut the fuck up, Luna" she whisper yelled before slowly making her way into the bedroom.
When she got there, Luna trailing behind her like a lost puppy, she pushed open the wooden door. This action caused a loud creak to sound, alerting the intruder to their presence.
In the room, Lisa saw a person in a skull face mask holding a shirt that Sam had left here the night before. It was covered in a mixture of Sam's own blood from when she broke her nose and Caitlin's blood from the crash.
"Holy shit!" Luna yelled but instead of coming for them, the intruder ran straight past them, dropping the shirt onto the floor.
Lisa and Luna shared a confused and terrified look before taking off after the person but when they reached the front door where they had run out of, there was no one in sight.
"What the fuck" Lisa muttered before rushing inside whilst Luna locked all the doors and windows in the house.
Lisa immediately started to call Jess, knowing that she would be the only person who could give her information about this weird intruder.
Jess picked up after a few rings, still recovering from the intruder appearing at her own house. "Hi"
"Jess, you won't believe what just happened" Lisa said. "A guy in a fucking skull mask costume showed up at Luna's house"
"No fucking way, he showed up here too. It was some news reporter. I don't know how he found out you guys were my friends" Jess said, putting her phone on speaker so that Raven could hear Lisa.
"Hi Lisa"
"Hi Raven" Lisa replied, getting the hint and putting herself on speaker so Luna could hear too. "Luna is here too"
"Hey" Luna said
"Anyway, why would this guy show up at your house? Especially not very long after he came to mine" Jess said.
"He was being all weird too, sniffing Sam's shirt that she left here" Luna said.
"What the fuck? Maybe it's someone we know" Jess suggested but it seemed a bit far fetched. She couldn't think of anyone that would be stalking them and sniffing Sam's shirt. That part was particularly strange since there was no correlation between Sam and the attack other than the fact that she was friends with Jess.
The fact that the person in the mask didn't attack Luna and Lisa or steal anything was strange too. So they showed up at Luna's house just to sniff Sam's shirt? It wasn't adding up.
"I mean who would do this? No offence to Sam but I don't think wanting to sniff her dirty laundry is exactly something a lot of people want to do" Lisa said which the rest of the group agreed with. It was just weird.
"Where is Sam right now?" Jess asked.
"The hospital seeing Caitlin" Raven answered.
"Okay, meet me and Raven there in 10 minutes" Jess said before hanging up the phone.
