The Spirit Inside (poem)

She rose with the moon

And went down with it

She burned like the sun

And shone even brighter

She was as smooth as water

And just as transparent

She burned with the fire

And sometimes burned hotter than it

She was a swift as the air

And sometimes even nimbler

She's as hard as rock

But sometimes she's soft as satin

She likes to run with wings

Yet she has none

She likes to soar like a bird

Yet she's not a bird

So what is she?

You might ask

She's the spirit inside all of us

That's hidden inside our souls.
