Reader pronouns: she/her
CW: mentions of naked bodies and arguing?
A/N: there is nothing really note worthy about this despite being the first chapter, i just wanted to start the book off with something sweet. I do however, have an idea for a part 2 to this. Y/N POV

"Are you kidding me... again?" I ask annoyed sitting on the edge of my bed with my arms crossed. "I'm just going out for a drink with the squad for half an hour, our movie night can wait until later." Simon responds as he walks out the bathroom adjusting his skull bandana around on his face. This is the third time he has done this and it's starting to hurt, I don't want to feel like this so I'm putting my foot down. "Later never comes because half an hour turns into you coming back at 3 am. What's the point of making plans to spend time together if every time you cancel them?" He just groans and rolls his eyes before leaving the room, this pissed me off even more.  "I don't get to see you for months at a time, then when you get back and we make plans you cancel them to go drink." I say as i follow him out the room, my voice beginning to become more agitated. "What's your point Y/N?" He asks annoyed turning to face me his eye brows furrowed. "I want to know why you're avoiding spending time with me!" He rolls his eyes again and sighs. "I'm not avoiding spending time with you." "Oh really? You have been back two days now, we have only spent 10 minutes together and thats including now." I yell just wanting to know if i have done something wrong, i hate feeling this way and i hate not knowing how he feels. "Maybe if you weren't so fucking needy, i'd want to spend time with you!" He at me snaps venomously, hearing him say that hurt on a level I didn't think was possible. I just stand there looking at him unaware of what to say or do, i feel tears begin to form and i try to fight them back. All Simon does is sigh before turning around and grabbing his car keys and jacket. "I'm going out..." he says closing my apartment door behind him, leaving me alone and hurt.  A few minutes have passed and i still feel like shit, I'm laid in my bed thinking about what he said. I begin to tear up at the thought that i am really awful to be around and he doesn't love me anymore. I cry so hard no sound comes out until I can't fight the feeling of closing my eyes and sleeping.

SIMON'S POV

Hours later Simon has been drinking alone at the bar. He's staring down at his glass, lost in thought after the argument with Y/N. He takes another long drink of his whiskey and sighs. He can't help but feel a little guilty over canceling their plans this evening, he feels worse about what he said. Still, he tries to tell himself that he's just trying to have a few drinks and decompress after their latest mission. The bar is quiet, and Simon is alone with his thoughts as he continues to drink. Eventually, he finishes his drink and sets down the glass. He stares down at his empty whiskey glass for a moment before sighing and rubbing his brow. He looks up and around the bar, then stands up and starts to leave. He walks out of the bar and into the evening and begins heading towards his car, deciding to head to Y/N's apartment. He's not sure what he's going to say to her exactly, but he knows that he doesn't want to leave her alone tonight and that he wants to try and talk things out. As he drives he notices a flower shop that's still open despite it being around 3 am, he pulls over and grabs a bouquet. He thanks the shop owner before paying and leaving. He knows that flower's won't make up for what he said or cancelling their plans, However, he knows she likes flowers and that they do make a good peace offering.

THIRD POV

You hear a heavy knock on your door which wakes you up, you pick your phone up off the table and check the time. It's around half three in the morning, you sigh as you get up and unlock the door, you already know who it's going to be. Simon smiles as he sees Y/N open the door. He holds out his hands, offering a small peace offering. "I brought you some flowers..." He says, holding out the bouquet of bright yellow roses. You look at him confused then down at the flowers, you're still hurt and upset but can't help from smiling as you take them from his hands. "It's 3 in the morning, where did you get these?" "They had a whole bunch of them at the flower shop." Simon replies with a small smile "Are you feeling alright?" He asks. "I'm sorry for what i said and cancelling our plans tonight." He says with a soft sigh as he looks at you with remorse, you look at him for a moment before sighing. "Well, I'm not happy about it... but it is what it is and i know you're sorry." You stand to the side and gesture for Simon to come in, you're still not 100% okay but you wont turn him away. "It's late and cold, you can stay the night if you'd like." Simon smiles and walks into the apartment, "Thanks." He says as he closes the door behind him, "I appreciate the offer." He adds, placing the bouquet of yellow roses on the kitchen counter before facing You. "Can we talk for a second?" He asks, looking you in the eyes. The feeling you had when Simon first left for the bar begins to return, you knew talking about it was inevitable but it still hurts. "Sure, I'm guessing I already what you want to talk about..." you say as you fiddle with your hands nervously, looking into his eyes trying to figure out how he feels. Simon takes a deep breath before speaking. "Y/N, look, I..." He sighs, searching for the right words. "I'm sorry I cancelled our plans tonight and said what i said, I didn't mean it." He adds after a pause. "I've just been feeling a bit overwhelmed lately, coming back from missions and adjusting can be hard..." He explains. "I hope you can understand." He says, looking you in the eyes with a soft expression. You sigh as you look at him, for obvious reasons you don't know what happens on those missions. All you know is that at some point he has had to get his hands dirty, you have never had to do that. You can only imagine what it must be like for him to have to readjust... "I understand i just wish you would talk to me about this, I need to know how you're feeling so i can support you properly. If you are feeling overwhelmed I'm more then happy to give you the time and space you need." You walk up to him and hold his hands in yours. "I know from the small things you have told me, that opening up and talking about you feelings is hard for you... but I can't give you what you need if I don't know what that is." You say softly and you give him a small comforting smile.
