Part 2
Jason Todd found himself immersed in the depths of his own thoughts, his mind consumed by the desire to impress Y/n and show her his affection. But the more he pondered, the more lost he felt. The advice offered by Dick, filled with love and sentimentality, seemed foreign and out of place for someone like him. He couldn't imagine himself engaging in the clichés of romance.
Sighing with frustration, Jason decided to seek guidance from another source. He turned to his mentor, Bruce Wayne, who stood before him in his iconic Batman attire, an imposing figure that exuded strength and wisdom.
"Hey, Bruce. Can we talk?" Jason asked, a tinge of vulnerability creeping into his voice.
Bruce nodded, his eyes peering through the darkness of the Batcave. "Of course, Jason. What's on your mind?"
With a sense of embarrassment, Jason poured out his heart, sharing his conflicted feelings and the daunting task of expressing his affection towards Y/n. He admitted his struggle to find a way to be genuine without succumbing to the expectations set by others.
Bruce listened intently, his gaze unwavering. After a moment of silence, he spoke, his voice laced with paternal wisdom. "Jason, it's important to remember that the foundation of any relationship is built on honesty and authenticity. You should never try to be someone you're not just to impress someone else."
Jason looked at Bruce, a mix of hope and uncertainty in his eyes. "But how do I show her how I feel without being overly sappy or fake? I'm not good at this stuff, Bruce."
Bruce's expression softened, and he placed a hand on Jason's shoulder, offering a reassuring squeeze. "Jason, the most genuine way to express your affection is by being yourself. Show her who you truly are, flaws and all. If she doesn't appreciate you for that, then she isn't the right person for you."
Jason nodded, a sense of clarity washing over him. He realized that he had been searching for the perfect words or grand gestures when all he needed to do was let his true self shine through.
That night, as Jason lay in his bed, he let his imagination wander, picturing various scenarios where he could showcase his authenticity to Y/n. He dreamed of sharing moments filled with laughter, banter, and his unique sense of humor. He envisioned opening up about his past, sharing the struggles he had faced and the person he had become.
In his dreams, Jason realized that he didn't need extravagant gestures or rehearsed lines to win Y/n's heart. He needed only to embrace his true self, with all his strengths and vulnerabilities laid bare. That authenticity, he believed, would be enough.
And so, as Jason drifted off to sleep, his dreams were filled with glimpses of a future where he could express his affection for Y/n in his own genuine way. With Bruce's words echoing in his mind, he had newfound confidence that the path he was embarking on would lead him to a connection that was truly meant to be.
