"Amber!!!"
I hear a door slam from downstairs and I groan, it's my bestfriend Mindy.
"What?!" I yell back,
"Get your pretty ass downstairs!" She yells to me, I chuckle and get out of bed, running downstairs.
"There's a new girl on our road, she's our age!" She says excitedly.
"So?" I look at her confused,
"Soo, we can be friends with her? Her names like, Tina..Tiana...Tupac? I don't know, but don't you wanna make a new bud?" She looks at me with puppy dog eyes.
"Mindy," I grab her shoulders.
"Listen to me," I look into her eyes.
"You were the only person I wanted to be friends with in our whole group, Chad came along with you, Wes is..Wes, and Liv is Chads dog." I say, I let go of her shoulders. "Plus, that girl looks like a pansy. You really think I would connect with someone like her?" I roll my eyes.
"Well? You don't know if you'll like her or not. Let's at least say hi!" Mindy grabs my hands. "Cmoon!!" She drags me out of the house.
"Mindy I don't wanna-" I say as she drags me out. "Just say hi, I'll do the talking." She says as we goto the house across from mine. "Atleast the little old lady doesn't live here anymore." Mindy says.
"Didn't she die?" I add on, Mindy stops for a second and looks at me. "Uhm, well damn that took a turn." She says before walking back over slowly.
"Okayy.." I say as we carry on over.
"HEY TIANA!!" Mindy shouts, I hide my face in embarrassment as the girl looks over to us.
"ITS TARA!" She yells back before going inside, Mindy looks at me puzzled and I laugh.
"Well now I'm embarrassed." She says, fake sniffling. I pat her back and 'Tara' comes back out, we both walk up to her.
"Hi, sorry about earlier haha.." Mindy says, still embarrassed.
"It's fine." Tara looks over to me. I wave nervously and smile, she smirks at me and Mindy nudges me.
"Oh- uhm, I'm Amber." I put my hand out.
"You already know my name." Tara smiles and shakes my hand. I feel a tingly sensation go through my body and shiver a little when she shakes my hand, Mindy smiles and looks at Tara.
"I'm Mindy." She says. Tara smiles and goes inside. "Jeez she makes me nervous." Mindy rolls her eyes, I laugh and we head back to my house.
"We have school tomorrow, do you think she's in our school now?" Mindy asks me, I scoff.
"No way, I'll die." I say to Mindy.
(The next morning at school)
She's at our fucking school. Me and Mindy try our hardest to not stare at her the whole time, Wes looks confused and looks in our direction.
"What are you guys looking at?" He asks.
"Shut up." I say, still looking at Tara.
"Okay then." He says, he then find what me and Mindy have been staring at for the past minute.
"Wow, she's really pretty." Wes says, looking with us. I look at him with disgust,
"Ew, fucking man whore." I say to him as I put my bag down, he shrugs and looks at me offended. "What? I look at her for a second and it makes me a man whore??" He sits down next to Chad.
"Yep." Mindy smiles at him, sitting down next to me. I keep staring at Tara but I'm not sure why, all I can think about is why I felt something when she touched me yesterday. To be honest it was kinda weird, but now I crave her touch. Mindy nudges me and I quickly look over to her,
"What's up with you?" She whispers.
"Huh? Nothing, just thinking." I say.
"Thinking bout what?" She says with a stupid smirk on her face. I slap her shoulder gently and look at her angrily,
"Mindy!" I whisper yell and she laughs.
"Did you guys have sex?" Chad asks, looking at us with girl number 1 on his lap.
"Did YOU guys have sex?" I say, looking at the way his girlfriend is positioned on him.
"Nah.." He says, kissing his women. I gag jokingly,
"God why don't you guys just do it already.." I say with a smile, "I'm waiting until my girl is ready." He smirks.
"Your 'girl' looks eager." I say and the first bell rings. She rolls her eyes and we all pack our shit up, we have different first periods so we all split up. I goto my first class and sit down, I sit in the bag by the water fountain, it's a nice spot since the teacher doesn't have to be up my ass all the time. I look ahead of me and see the Tara girl sit down infront of my desk,
"Well shit." I mumble, she doesn't even look at me and I take out my notebook to pretend I'm doing something. I watch as she sets all of her stuff down and takes her books out, when she's done she turns around to face me.
"Hey." She says, I look up.
"Uhm, hey." I say. "Amber, right?" She says to me, making a hand gesture.
"Yeah." I say, she smiles. "Uhm, sorry for like- leaving early yesterday. I had to unpack and stuff.." She explains to me, makes sense to be honest.
"Oh yeah, I figured. Mindy was just a little confused." I smile and she nods.
"Okay, well...Can you help me find some of my classes? I had to go through absolute hell to find this one." She giggles,
"Yeah sure, I know this school like I know the back of my hand." I chuckle. She smiles and nods.
"Cute." She looks me up and down before turning around, the teacher walks in after that and I feel my face heat up, I put my head down and can feel the teachers eyes staring into me.
"Okay class, flip to page 47 in your science textbook." She says, I sigh and lift my face up, staring into the back of Tara's head.
This is weird.
