Chapter Fourteen
"Stop with the fake happiness," Madi yawned and she covered her hand with a blanket. Gifts from the men had been placed on the vanity table and the girls crawled to the table with as much excitement as a half sleep person could have.
"This is for you Madi," Mcat smirked as all the girls reached for the brown paper packages.
"Wow," Madison gasped as Charlotte pulled out a lovely bright red gown, "Who's that from?"
"It's from Matthew," a look of confusion spread across Char's face, as she reread the label on the package to make sure her eyes were not deceiving her.
"How in the world?" MC laughed as she took the label out of Char's hands.
"Come on girls, this whole thing is fake. He probably never left! I mean, clearly he is still her...somewhere," Madison teased as she twirled around in her new green dress that was a gift to her from John.
"Guys," MC smiled, "I got purple! You all know purple is so fitting for me. Oh, and it is from James!"
"Mine better be from Jack," Hannah muttered as he pulled out the light blue gown.
Martha burst through the door with a tired look on her face, "It is time for your dance lesson!"
"What about breakfast?" Madison whined.
Martha gestured to a table that had four bowls of untouched porridge sitting on it.
"Awe man," Hannah sighed as she trudged out the door.
"But, but, my food! I need food," Madison cried as Charlotte and MC dragged her away from her bowl.
When the girls walked downstairs the men were waiting for them in the ballroom that somehow no one knew about till now.
"I hope you liked the dress," James winked to Char as she walked by.
She gave him a stern look then huffed away to find Tim to dance with.
"May I have this dance?" Hannah asked Jack as he walked by her.
"Eh, I'm good," He smirked as he gently pinched her arm, "Char, may I have this dance?"
Hannah's heart dropped as Jack briskly walked up to Char and swept her off her feet before she was about to get to Tim
"Come here James," Hannah called as she grabbed Timothy's arm, "Dance with me!"
It was one of the most awkward dance classes the girls had ever been to. No one knew what they were doing, and most of the time the girls sat with MC making sure her foot was okay.
"Ladies and Gents," A servant called, "Please follow me for tea."
Teatime was slowly dying for Hannah. She loved tea, but she was growing weary of always having to drink it at the exact same time everyday.
"So Jackson," MC began as she brought her tea up to her lips.
"Please call me Jack," he smirked, cutting MC off mid sentence.
"Why are you here Jackson," a very irritated Hannah chimed in from across the table.
"It's Jack," He snapped.
"Eh, I don't really care if I'm being honest," Hannah smirked as she a servant poured her another cup of tea.
"Hannah, do not start this with me!"
"Oh honey, you started the battle, I am just going to win the war."
"Not the time nor the place!"
"I don't know if you can tell or not, but I don't really care."
"Haha," Madi laughed trying to lighting the mood, "You all fight like you are married...LIKE YOU ARE MARRIED!"
"Oh," Jack replied, jumping back into character, "To answer your question, I am here because I am searching for love just like everyone else. You see, my girlfriend kept antagonizing me, so I left her and came here to find someone else."
"Hannah is available," Char giggled as she tried not to make eye contact with Hannah or Jack.
"Nah, Hannah isn't my type...Too much drama."
"And on that note," MC exclaimed as she and Madison stood up to grab Hannah before she threw a knife at Jack, "I think we are going to go out for some air."
"We are going to finish this conversion about me being too much drama later on, buddy," Hannah whispered to Jack as she walked away.
