Year 7 Chapter 6: Assignment to Hogwarts

A week of training went by and weirdly nothing out of the ordinary was happening, as Talbott, Diego and I were doing a practice two on two fight (Diego and Talbott vs Me and Emily with Tonks, Jae and John standing by and watching with joy) Mad-Eye came in and we stopped to see what he wanted.

"Cutter, Winger, Caplan; follow me." Mad-Eye ordered calmly.

"Alright then." I nodded as Talbott, Diego, and I followed him to his office.

"You three are going back to Hogwarts for an assignment."

Talbott, Diego and I smiled but looked at him in confusion.

"Ever since Merula joined R, there have been rumors about more students of Hogwarts plotting to join R. Your assignment is to go around Hogwarts and get information on who else could be thinking about Joining R. Or if Merula's there, see if anyone's passing info." Mad-Eye explained.

"Wait, won't they know if we're on to them?" Diego asked.

"We'll be careful." I said.

"I have my guess as to who it might be, he's not the most observant of the bunch." Talbott explained.

"You think you can handle it?" Mad-Eye asked, although confident that we had this.

"You've got it, Mad-Eye." I said.

"We won't let you down." Diego said with a determined smile.

"Good, now off you go." Mad-Eye said as we left.

Just as we were about to use the floo network, Emily stopped us.

"I heard what your mission is and I was wondering if I could come?" She asked, tightening her sword sheath a little. Talbott and I shrugged.

"More the merrier." Diego agreed, causing Emily to blush a little.

I smirked, knowing that look from both of them. "I'll ask her about it." I thought.

"Thank you." She smiled as we all blasted off back to Hogwarts.

Talbott, Tonks, Diego, Emily and I arrived back in Hogsmeade.

"Hello, Lucas. Back already?" Rosmerta asked.

"Ministry assignment." I answered as Rosmerta nodded in understanding.

We entered the castle; "Alright, We need to figure out who is the most likely suspect?" I asked.

"Hmmm. Well, we had a student from Slytherin leave. We need to check the other houses; see if anyone from there's thinking about it." Talbott theorized.

"Good plan. Talbott head to Ravenclaw tower." I ordered.

"Diego, head to the Hufflepuff common room as well as the kitchens while Emily and I head to the Gryffindor common room."

"Actually I'll go with Diego." Emily smiled.

"Alright, let's go." Diego agreed.

"You go ahead, I want to talk with Emily for a minute."

"Sure." Diego said as he raced off to the Hufflepuff common room.

"Emily, Do you have a crush on Diego?" I asked as Diego left.

"N-No I don't," Emily quickly answered while trying to hide her blush. "Why do you ask?"

"No reason." I chuckled, knowing she was lying.

"Alright then, so can I ask you something?"

"Go ahead."

"How did Aunt Carol take you and Penny getting together?" she asked.
