Zoe, Sarah and I were packing up our new home. Honestly, I never thought I'd live in New York one day, this city had a way of scaring me, even though I had to admit it was very beautiful.
Zoe and Sarah have been my best friends for 10 years now, even though we're all very different. Sarah is superficial and only thinks about guys, while Zoe is studious and only thinks about school.
I don't really know how to describe myself, but I'd say I'm an in-between.
I was lost in thought when Sarah asked for a meeting in the living room of our new apartment. It didn't bode well in general.
"Okay, so you guys know how obsessed I am with the band Tokio Hotel?" Sarah said with a big smile.
oh no
"I got us 3 tickets for their concert tonight in New York!!!" She yelled, excited.
I turned to look at Zoe, with a worried look on my face. As much as I loved Sarah with all my heart, going to a concert by a band to whom I didn't listen to any songs really pissed me off.
Seeing no response, Sarah began to grow impatient.
"Come on guys, please?" she says, pouting.
Zoe rolled her eyes and sighed.
"Fine, we'll go, but you owe us."
I gave Zoe a flabbergasted look. Traitor. I know how nice Zoe is, but she'd just said yes for me to something I didn't want.
Sarah started screaming with joy and hugged us excitedly. I gave Zoé a nasty look and she mouthed a "sorry".

I'd almost finished getting ready for the concert, and who knows, maybe I'd meet a cute guy? I don't even know if this band had any fan boys, to tell you the truth...
Sarah stormed into my room, all excited. She was very beautiful, very flashy, but very beautiful nonetheless.
"You look great, Sarah!" I said, finishing my makeup.
"You look incredible, Cici! Please don't steal my crush away from me, I'm begging!" She said.
"Thanks Sarah, and, who's your crush anyway?" I replied.
"I like Bill... I know he might look a little edgy and this is not the kind of man I usually go for, but he's got something that sets him apart from the others..." she says as she lies down on my bed.
"No Bill, got it." I replied with a soft smile.
"You can have Tom, it's his twin, completely different but still hot..." she continued.
"I don't think he will ever notice me, Sarah, but yeah I'm not against it." I said, looking at the result of my hard work in the mirror.
Zoe arrived in a hurry, also very beautiful, and obviously more ready than we were as she had already put on her shoes.
"Come on guys, we're going to be late!" Zoe yelled.
Zoe is a bit like our mom to Sarah and me, which is good because we can always trust her to take care of us.
We soon arrived, or so I assumed, seeing tons of girls with signs and "I love Tokio Hotel" shirts.
We got out of the Taxi, paid the driver and headed for the concert venue. No cute guys on the horizon, but I was there for Sarah.
"I got us tickets to the front of the stage, so they can see us." Sarah said, excited.
We settled into our seats, waiting for the famous band. Given the posters Sarah had in her room, I knew exactly what they looked like, and I must admit I didn't mind our front-row places.
The band finally arrived a few minutes late and Sarah, like all the other fans, screamed when she saw them. To tell the truth, they had a rather atypical physique that set them apart from the other bands.
I suddenly noticed the guy Sarah had told me about earlier, Thomas or something. I had to admit, he was even more handsome than on the posters in Sarah's room.
He turned his head towards where we were positioned and winked. I think it was a general wink and not meant for me in particular, but when he did it I felt special.
"Omg I can't believe I'm seeing them in real life!" says Sarah, leaning towards my ear so I can hear over the crowd's shouts.
I gave her a friendly smile before turning my attention back to my new target.
"Who's the guy with the brown hair and who seems to be a bassist, again?" asked Zoe.
"You must be talking about Georg, he's the oldest in the group." replied Sarah.
"He's kinda cute." said Zoe with a goofy smile.
So Zoe had a new crush? He wasn't her usual type, and especially not a guy in a music band who wouldn't guarantee her the future she'd imagined since she was a little girl. But, good for her, I guess.

We were halfway through the concert, when the band decided to take a break, which I found very convenient, because with this crowd we could hardly breathe, so getting out seemed the best idea.
"Where you going?" Sarah asked me as I tried to push the girls out of the way.
"I'm going out for a bit to breathe, I won't be long." I replied.
She shrugged and turned back to Zoe to discuss the first part of the concert.
When I finally managed to find my way out, I found myself alone in front of a small alley. Looking back, it was actually quite creepy.
I took a deep breath when I heard footsteps. I looked to see where the noise was coming from when I saw, at the end of the alley, what appeared to be someone dressed in an all-black suit with a ghost mask.
I rubbed my eyes, I must have been hallucinating from the alcohol or something. When I looked back to where the person was supposed to be, he had disappeared.
"Do you smoke?" I heard a male voice behind me.
I looked around to see if I was the person he was talking to, then seeing that we were alone, I turned back to him.
"No, but maybe I can help?" I replied unbothered.
I couldn't see the face of the man talking to me in the dark, so I remained on my guard.
"Got a lighter, princess?" he asked with an accent.
"Yeah I've got to have that." I replied, searching in my huge ass bag.
I finally handed him my lighter, and when he lit his cigarette, his face finally glowed. I recognized the band's guitarist.
