Topanga's POV

"Come on Topanga we need to get off," Mianga said causing me to wake up.Though I didn't want to get up because of last night, I did and with a groan. After almost falling down the steps, Mianga grabbed my hand pulling me into a small diner. We walked over to a nice small booth in the back. The lights were bright, the seats were bright red, and it was so colorful.

"This place looks cool," I said grabbing a menu, I knew Mianga wouldn't care to pick what we would split.

"What are you two young girls doing here all alone, " A well dressed man asked. He had blue eyes and the blacklist hair I have ever seen.

"Our mom sent us to get some breakfast sir," Mianga answered, "She has a rather terrible headache and couldn't make us breakfast, so she sent us here." He raised his eyebrow like he didn't believe it.

"What about your father," he asked Mianga just shrugged.

"Your guess is as good as mine sir," she said, "He left a couple of years back and we haven't seen him since." He shook his head and sat down next to my sis.

"Well you shouldn't be here alone on this side of town," he said and Mianga gave me a little kick under the table as I went to tell the guy to get lost. "Maybe I should bring you home," He said making me glare at him.

"All due respect sir, we shouldn't go with strangers either," Mianga said making him laugh, did she say something funny?

"I'm not much of a stranger," he answered confusing Mianga and I.

"I have no idea who you are and I have never seen you in my life," I said before Mainga could stop me this time.

"Topanga." Mianga warned as if I was a child, rolling my eyes I looked back over at the man still sitting next to Mianga.

"That's quite alright," he said setting a hand on Mianga's shoulder. "To help my name is Bruce Wayne." He added making Mianga look speechless.

"Who the heck is that," I thought out loud getting a kick from my lovely sister. Why does she have to be so nice all the time?

"Well for one, he is obviously Bruce Wayne," she said getting a kick from me, "Second is that he happens to be the owner of Wayne Enterprise making him quite rich and famous." I still didn't know who HE was and I couldn't have cared less.

"One thing you probably don't know is that I am pretty good at telling wither or not someone is telling the truth," he said. Well hell we are so dead if that isn't a bluff. "So why are you really here all alone," he asked sternly.

"Sir we are alone because we can't stay in the house any longer," Mianga explained all Bruce did was raise a eyebrow.

"They only fed us maybe once a week and they kep attackin' Mianga," I said hating him for some reason, "Though I doub' she woulda told you." She gave me that glare of hers but I went on. "You should see all the bruises and scars she gotte' from them," I said making Bruce's eyes get all big before he looked over at Mianga.

"By law I have to take you both to the police," he said pissing me off more, "But once they find out what is going on in that house you will be moved to a better one." I looked down at my hands trying not to lose it again.

"That's the problem sir," Mianga said making me look up. "We've been moved to tons of homes but all have been bad. Truth be told we have given up hope in the system." Bruce nodded before hugging her, making me to feel uncomfortable. When the food got to the table Mianga and I had it gone is seconds, then Bruce paid and we left.

It wasn't long before we were sitting in the police commissioner's office waiting from them to tell us what was to happen to us. We were nervous and I was worried how much trouble I had gotten Mianga in to this time, when out of nowhere the floor started shaking there was things falling off the desk.

"What was that," Mianga asked and I was wondering too. Something was going on and I wanted to know what.

"I don't know but let's find out," I said jumping up and opening the door to see cops running everywhere so I ran for the exit, knowing Mianga would be just behind me. She yelled my name but I didn't stop. As I ran out into the streets people everywhere were flipping out, and I heard a odd crazy laughter coming from everywhere at once. Then an explosion rocked the ground causing me to falter. I turned just as a wall came down almost on top of me. The last thing I saw was Mianga moving closer and the wall falling. Fear rose up in me as I realized that Mianga must have tried to get to me only to get herself kill. I brushed of the bricks that had landed on me and turned and ran.

I ran into a woman wearing a red and black outfit. "Aren't you just a little cutie," she said helping me up. "Hey Sir," she yelled over her shoulder, "Can I keep her!"

I looked up to see a man with green hair and pale skin walk up to us. "What's your name," He asked, his voice sounding as though he was holding back laughter.

"Topanga," I said standing up, "What's yours?" He smiled as if he liked me already.

"I, my dear child am The Joker," He said throwing me in the back of a van. Well kay, clown boy.
