Following a standalone event of a T20 match in which India defeated Australia by 6 wickets, both the teams were looking forward to face each other in the seven ODI series which was going to take place in India that played a crucial role for the host to get their fan support and pitch conditions.
Although they had to face the most successful cricket team of the world which was still a big challenge for them. The ODI series took place from 13th October 2013 - 2nd November 2013.
Before the event, Australian captain Michael Clarke was replaced by Callum Ferguson and George Bailey took the role of captaincy.
The series wasn't just played by the teams but also made the spectators to witness the new world records which were made by the players.
In the second ODI series, all the first five batters of Australia scored fifty plus runs which which was not done by any team earlier. In the same ODI, India chased down the target of 360 runs making it the second highest run chase to win the game.
In the sixth match, India chased down the target of 350 runs making the third highest chase to win the game.
In the seventh and final match, Indian batter Rohit Sharma became the third man to score a double century in an ODI. He scored 209 of 158 balls.
