India had won the toss and had elected to field first.
Batting first, Australian captain made 98(94) runs and power hitter Glenn Maxwell scored 92(77) runs.
Allrounder James Faulkner played a not out innings of 23(29) runs whereas Mitchell Johnson contributed 25(31) runs.
The Australian side had a total of 295 runs of 8 wickets.
While it was India's turn to bat the game was stopped by rain after 4.1 overs of the second innings when the score was at 27 runs for no loss.
The game couldn't be resumed due to the weather and no result was decided.
