Adam Voges remained not out for 44(38) which helped the Australian side to get a total of 350 runs for 6 wickets.
It was a do or die situation for the Indian team as they had to win the match to level the series otherwise they would have lost the one.
Batting first openers Rohit Sharma 79(89) and Shikhar Dhawan 100(102) did a partnership of 178 runs for the first wicket.
Star cricketer Virat Kohli and captain cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni played the not out innings of 115(66) and 25(23) runs respectively which helped the Indian side to win the match by six wickets.
India's score totaled at 351 runs for 4 wickets.
The match became the fourth highest run chase in the ODI format.
Virat Kohli became the player of the match for his 17th ODI century.
The series was levelled at 2-2.
