A huge plate of food was placed in front of her as soon as she sat down. Hermione smiled and thanked Mrs Weasley before tucking in.
Hermione was sat in the middle, with Ginny on her left and Harry on her right. Fred was sat across from her, with George on his right and Ron on his left. Arthur was sat at the head of the table, reading the daily prophet.
Suddenly, a loud thump came from the window.
Ron rolled his eyes as Ginny went to get the post from Errol.
"Bloody bird" she muttered as she returned to table.
There was a letter from Hogwarts for each Hermione, Harry, Ron and Ginny, and the rest were addressed to Arthur.
Hermione opened her letter and small badge fell out of the envelope. She picked it up curiously and grinned when she saw what it was. It was a maroon colour and had the words 'head girl' on it in golden letters. Ginny looked over at the badge and let out a small squeal.
"I knew you'd get it! Congrats 'Mione!" she exclaimed while hugging her.
Everyone looked at them with slightly confused expressions.
"Hermione's head girl!" Ginny said excitedly.
The room erupted into cheers and congratulations. Hermione could feel her face going red. After the room had quietened down, she began to read the letter.
Dear Miss Granger,
I am pleased to inform you that you have been selected for the role of head girl.
You will be expected to set a good example to the younger students, and help organize any events.
You will be sharing a dorm with the head boy (whom you shall meet on the train) for the year.
Please report to the head compartment at 11:15 sharp.
Congratulations.

"I wonder who the head boy is. Do you have any ideas on who it could be?" Ginny asked Hermione, having read the letter over her shoulder. Hermione only shrugged in response.
"I guess we'll have to wait and see." She replied.
Soon enough, it was time to leave, so they made their way to the station, on their way back to Hogwarts once again.
