Season nine, episode twelve
DifferentThinking back on memories sometimes makes Ivory Willow sick to her stomach.
The realisation that the only way you'll be able to see them is from a memory. An otherwise happy memory washed over this grief and sadness.
The realisation that you'll try so hard to accept and move on, but apart if you still can't.
Sitting down between two rock-covered graves is Ivory. Her hand ghosted over the scratched name embedded within the wood. Sasha.
The empty grace space taunted her every move. Another person she loved will go there, the only thing is she doesn't know when.
When.
Ivory got Sasha, she understood why she did what she did. When nobody ever did. Ivory had found that over the years that she can read people. Study their body language, micro-expressions and all the little signs that show how people are feeling.
But she could never figure out Sasha. Never understood why she acted so cold. Why she acted like the world was against her? Then it clicked, She had figured her out.
The day she figured it out was the party when they first arrived at Alexandria. Sasha went off, her words, her actions. It was all grief. Loss. Anger was her release.
Sasha wasn't a bitch, she was broken.
Angry at the world.
A tear escapes and falls smoothly down Ivory's cheek dropping down on the dirt below her. She brings her knees to her chest, arms wrapping around. Her body shakes as she sobs into herself.
Jesus dying hurt Ivory in more ways than imaginable, it hurt more. Every time somebody close to the girl died, the previous people come back to haunt her. The deaths are piling up.
Ivory doesn't know how much more she can take. She's trying.
She carefully shifts in the dirt until she is fully facing her best friend's grave. Then gets on her knees, placing her head on the side of the headstone. Softly caressing it with her ring-ridden fingers, her bracelets brushing against the stone.
Jesus always talked about what would happen if something would happen to him. Ivory would always agree. Agree to not make his death invade her mind, so it's not the only thing on her mind.
During the day it slips her mind until somebody comes up to give their respects. Then it has her. The dwelling feeling hanging over her.
