In a mere glance that graced our souls,
Amidst rain's tears outside the ballroom's halls,
You whispered silently, with eyes so deep,
"Release your love; mine I cannot keep."
In those fleeting seconds, a tale was told,
As raindrops danced, secrets to behold,
With a gaze, a message of bittersweet art,
Letting go, as two paths drift apart.
In that poignant exchange, destiny's decree,
Unspoken words, but the heart could see,
A silent plea, a farewell left unsaid,
Love unattained, as dreams quietly fled.
Thus, in that ethereal connection we share,
A symphony of longing, wrapped in despair,
For in that one eye contact, a somber refrain,
Of love unreturned, forever it shall remain.
