"UNBOUND"

by JMC

In the midst of multitudes, I dwelled, a solitary soul,

Amidst the clamor, I remained untouched, my heart unwhole.

In corners of every room, I sought solace's embrace,

Longing for the day when belonging I'd finally chase.

With nightfall's shroud, I'd gaze at the ceiling, endless,

My wandering mind seeking respite, relentless.

In the depths of those thoughts, aching to my core,

A lifetime spent pondering, yearning for something more.

To taste the sweet nectar of self-worth, I yearn,

To be cherished and loved, my spirit to discern.

Yet my heart, burdened, wails a mournful cry,

For the love I seek, elusive, passes me by.
