"DIVINE QUESTIONS"

by JMC

I beseech the world's attention, lend me your ear,

For its cruelty towards me is too much to bear.

Oh, dear Lord, I may not be your grandest design,

Yet within your possession, my soul does shine.

As one of your daughters, I plea and implore,

Why do you withhold joy and laughter from my core?

Among your vast children, why must I bear this weight,

Carrying burdens while others revel in fate?

If we all spring forth from your eternal flame,

Why am I marred, not flawless like your heavenly name?

Why must suffering be my perennial quest,

Before finding solace in the dreams, I invest?

O Muse of poetry, breathe through my quill,

Illuminate my words with a celestial thrill.

Let my lamentations reach the highest sphere,

And perhaps, in echoes, an answer will draw near.
