Extract from book

I sat with my back against the door, tears running down my face and my phone cradled against my chest. My clothes were drenched and my clothes stuck to me. I could hear the rain outside but nothing could block out those three words.

"You are nothing"

That was what he'd said, and the pain in my chest was unbearable. Nothing hurt more than a broken heart. Sometimes the smallest of things can cause the most pain. Well it wasn't the first time this had happened. I leant my head against the door and listened to the thudding of my heart. It was going to be another long night, I could tell.
