Chapter 2- On the wrong side of Imogen

Chapter 2

I hit the snooze button on the alarm on my phone and turned to look at the time. I sat up and rubbed my eyes before getting up out of bed and dragging my feet to the bathroom. In the mornings it normally takes me an hour to get ready for school. And yes I know that's not very long considering the time it takes other teenage girls to get ready. My usual routine is to slip in to the shower for a good ten minutes and then blow dry my hair and put on the minimal amount of make up. No-one likes a girl who slaps on make up like a face mask.

Today I was feeling extra tired and I was already pining for my bed. I got out of the shower and quickly ruffled my hair with the towel before putting it up in a messy bun. I found a pair of skinny jeans which I slipped on with a crop top from Jack Wills. I grabbed the mascara brush and lazily put on a layer, but I wasn't very careful so I managed to stab myself in the eye with the brush.

" Shiiiiittt that hurt" I cursed.

I wiped away the tears forming in my eye and pulled on my hoodie. I was looking forward to today as there were two new students at our college. Two very good looking brothers. One who was in the same year as me and the other in the year below. I hadn't been able to get a very good look at them yet but Imogen was babbling on about how fit the oldest one was. I was kind of jealous of her as he was in most of her classes and so far he wasn't in any of mine. She's been telling me all about his lovely brown eyes and his stylish brown wavy hair.

I texted Imogen to tell her to get her ass outside because I was waiting in the cold. She sauntered out of the house wearing a lovely floral summer dress.

"Aren't you gonna be a bit cold in that Imo?"

I eyed the goose bumps starting to appear on her arms.

"Nah, I'll be fine Mia, it's not cold at all."

I shrugged and started walking down the road with her walking by my side. I could hear her teeth chattering and smiled to myself. She was such an idiot and was so stubborn. Well if she was cold then it was her own fault.

We walked in through the gate. 'Lakeside College' was newly painted on the front of the school in bright blue letters.

"Looks like they've spruced up the place ready for the summer hey Imo?

I didn't get a reply so I turned around to find her a few steps away, staring in the direction of a group of boys. I recognised the new students who were now hanging out with the other popular boys in our year. Alex and Freddie are the head football players in our school and they're also the schools biggest players. As always they had a flock of girls swooning over them. I caught Alex's eye and he winked at me, I turned away in disgust.

"Come on Imo, there's no good in standing here staring at them all day."

Her reply was totally unexpected.

"Yeah I know, there's no good standing here, I'm going to go over there and introduce myself." She turned to look at me. "You coming too?"

"Um..yeah sure, why not."

I watching as she turned and started walking towards them. I ran over to where she was and walked by her side until we reached the football pitch where the group was gathered.

"Hey sweet cheeks" Freddie cooed at Imogen. Ahaha, he doesn't know what he's got himself into, a smile found it's way to the corners of my mouth as I waited for what I knew would come next. Imogen turned to Freddie and stepped right up to him. He smirked.

"Well hi there sweet cheeks, you come to offer your services to me?"

The other football players started to laugh and I could see the colour rising in her face. I fought to keep the smile off my face. She smiled sweetly at him and fluttered her eye lashes.

"Call me sweet cheeks and ask me that one more time and I make sure that you won't be able to walk properly for a whole week."

For a split second he looked shocked but he quickly composed himself and the smirk was back, plastered on his face.

"Well I didn't know you were a little feisty one now did I?"

He slung his arm around her shoulders but she shrugged him off.

"Actually I came here to introduce myself to these fine looking boys who haven't had the privilege to meet me yet." She casually threw a glance my way then went back to looking at Freddie. " I brought my mate here with me as I thought they'd be missing out if they didn't know her." I blushed. I felt someone's eyes on me and I turned around to find the oldest brother staring at me. I gave a half smile and then turned away to listen to the rest of what Imogen was saying. I felt someone's arm brush my side and someone lean down and whisper in my ear.
