"Mom!" I said as I entered the house.
"I'm in the kitchen!" She yelled.
I pranced into the kitchen and immediately flashed an innocent smile.
"What are you up to?" She said putting the last dish into the dishwasher and closing it.
"Well, um, there's this um, party on Friday and-" I was interrupted by her voice.
"You're not going to the party, especially since can't obey a curfew!"My mom said rolling her eyes.
"But mom, I will be back on time, plus it's in BrookHaven and I'm going with Katrina!" I said crossing my arms.
My mom does this every single time I ask to go to somewhere because of the ONE time I came home late, that's what teenagers do and it's like like I was extra late or something. I just lost track of time and she brings it up every time I want to go somewhere.
"Well I don't know, I'll have to talk to your father about this."She said
"About what?" My father said stepping into the kitchen.
"She wants to go to some ghetto party." My mom said crossing her arms and leaning up against the refrigerator.
"It's not ghetto, it's right down the street!" I said butting in.
"Well there's probably going to be a bunch of hood-rats there!" She said getting loud.
"Calm down Margaret."My father said eyeing my mother.
"Let her go to the party hun." My father said calmly.
"She acts like she can't follow a curfew!" My mom said getting louder.
"That was a year ago and she wasn't that late." My father said getting annoyed.
"You know what, do what the hell you wanna do." My mother said looking at me and stomping up the marble staircase.
"Where is this party, and exactly who are you going with?" My father said.
"It's in BrookHaven and I'm going with Katrina." I said with an innocent smile.
"Ok well you can go to the party, I'll deal with your mother." He said quickly walking up the steps.
"Yayy thanks!" I said smiling and running up to my room.
I immediately called Katrina to tell her the good news.
"Girl I can go!"I said cheering through the phone.
"Yassss." She said excitedly
"I just don't know what I'm going to wear." I said plopping down on the bed and balancing the phone between my ear and shoulder.
"Girl you gone find something." She said.
"Yeah I will." I said
"So is yo' lil boo thang gone be there?" She said laughing.
"Girl he not my boo thang!" I said
"Girl Im just playing with you." She said catching her breath from laughing.
She was talking about my ex-boyfriend Jamal, to be honest I quite honestly should have never agreed to date him. He was a complete jerk and the only reason I dated him was because my parents just loved him. His parents are very close with my parents so they thought of it as the perfect relationship but it really wasn't.
"Well girl I'm sleepy, I'll talk to ya later." I said
"Kk." She replied.
I touched the "End Call" button on my phone screen and fell into a deep sleep.Author's Note
Hey guys! So I haven't been getting much of any feedback so I'm guessing I'm doing OK ... I've gotten 13 reads on this book which is awesome (to me anyway) :). I plan on making this into a sequel but I don't know yet. I also included a picture of their house, I'm not sure why lol but there it is. Thank you all for reading and I hope you like the story! I'm trying to make the chapters longer but I don't realize how short they are until I read it myself! Thanks once again and vote, comment, follow !
