From that day on my father never let me out of his sights, I wasn't allowed to leave the castle unescorted. The only friend I had was my cat Jazz.
By the time I turned 15 I'd had enough, I needed to get out.
I needed to have a little freedom.
So I began to sneak out, it was hard to begin with but got easier. As I got older my father began to concentrate more on things a king needs to think about like politics, greetings and charity, ect.So here I am, climbing out my bedroom Window and down the vines, 2 years past and still un-caught I just pray it continues. I can't bare to see the same long halls and portraits of our previous great rulers for much longer.
When ever I sneak out I keep my head down, never do anything that attracts attentions there are still many people who would want to hurt me to get to my father, like the group who killed my mother. So I must be careful, after a short walk through the trees I arrive in the town, its late evening now so my choices of things to do are limited, usually I go to the library or local coffee shops."Hi, how can I help you?" The barista behind the counter asks me as I walk up to the counter.
"1 large hot chocolate please" I reply politely.Once I'd payed and she began to make my hot drink, I found myself looking at all the faces in the coffee shop. I tend to do this where ever I go, it fascinates me ..probably because I slightly envy them.
"One large hot chocolate" the barista smiles whilst handing me my drink.
"Thank you" I return the warm smile.
I take a seat in my usual spot by the window and take out a book. I never really have much to do, so I always read.
I could sit here for hours, getting lost in my own fairytales, dreaming of a different life, a normal life with a job, a family and a small house with a fire place."Excuse me? I'm sorry to bother you, but I think I may have left my wallet here earlier. Would you mind I look?" A voice pulls me out of my thoughts.
I quickly turn my head to meet the strangers eye.
A tall figure with pushed up hair and light brown eyes stared at me waiting for me to reply.
Those eyes..I recognise him. I don't know how, I never meet anyone new." Oh..um yeah of course" I quickly rise and get out of his way.
He flashes me a smile then begins to look around on the floor, pretty quickly he finds what he's looking for.
"Found it. thanks umm..?" he seems relived that he found his wallet.
Do I give him my name? What if he recognises me as the princess..
"Amber. my names Amber." I smile and reply to his question, a little nervous. 1. Being that I'm afraid he'll recognise me, and 2. He is actually pretty freakin attractive so..
"I'm Justin" he smiles "It's
Nice to meet you" He adds and holds his hand out. I take his hand in mine.. as I do I feel shivers go down my back.It went a little quiet, I weirdly don't want him to leave, So much for keeping your head down Amber.
"Would umm.. You like to join me?" I ask him politely.
"Oh, um I'd like that, but I actually have to be somewhere." He replied, he seemed a little disappointed.
To be honest I was too. I don't know him, but I feel like I do.. I feel a weird connection to him, like I've met him before..
"Oh no worries-" I start but he interrupts.
"Are you free tomorrow? Say around this time?" He smiles whilst looking into my eyes.
" I umm-" I go to reply again but he cuts me off again.
"Great" He smirks lightly, "I'll see you then" he adds.
He turns and walks towards the coffee shop door opening it letting all the cold winter air in.
"Goodbye, Amber." He calls just before he exists the coffee shop.
"Goodbye Justin.." I whisper to myself. Not long after I made my way back to the palace. It was now 11:30pm, my father will most probably be in bed.
Luckily for me, I managed to sneak back in un seen.
Whilst I was laying in bed, I couldn't help but let my thoughts go back to the boy a the coffee shop. His voice ringing through my ears, and once again sending chills down my spine.
How will tomorrow be? Is he going to become my friend? I haven't had a friend in...Well, I've never had a friend.
I soon fall asleep, smiling over today's events and for the ones yet to come.
