The scorching Texas sun beat down upon the fertile land as Sarthak Clayton toiled tirelessly in his fields. His farm was a sight to behold, thriving with the healthiest crops and a variety of animals. Sarthak took immense pride in his work, his passion evident in the bountiful harvests he produced year after year.

The Clayton family, comprising Sarthak, his wife Ashley, and their two children, Dhruv and Lindsey, lived a content and joyous life on their farm. The bond they shared was unbreakable, and their laughter could often be heard echoing through the countryside.

But envy knows no boundaries, and it found its way into the heart of a fellow farmer named Akarsh. Consumed by jealousy and bitterness, Akarsh coveted Sarthak's success and the admiration he received from the townsfolk. Fuelled by his resentment, Akarsh hatched a sinister plan to destroy everything Sarthak held dear.

One night , Akarsh crept into Sarthak's farm, his heart filled with malice. With a canister of gasoline in hand, he doused the crops, igniting a blazing inferno that devoured everything in its path. Sarthak's animals, his pride and joy, perished in the merciless flames. The devastation was complete, leaving the once-flourishing farm barren and lifeless.

However, the flames did not only claim the livestock and the crops. Tragically, Sarthak's beloved wife, Ashley, had been caught in the inferno, unable to escape its cruel embrace. Her loss shattered the Clayton family's world, plunging them into the depths of despair and poverty.

Days turned into weeks, and hunger gnawed at the Clayton family's empty stomachs. Their spirits withered, the fire within them replaced by a desperate need for survival. In the midst of their struggle, a flicker of revelation ignited in Sarthak's heart. He discovered the truth behind the devastating fire that had stolen everything from him-Akarsh was the culprit.

Blinded by fury and grief, Sarthak's desire for vengeance grew into an all-consuming force. He would stop at nothing to make Akarsh pay for his heinous act. With a steely determination, Sarthak planned his revenge, his mind shrouded in darkness.

One week after the incident, on 28 September , Dhruv's birthday arrived, casting a melancholic pall over the Clayton household. The weight of their loss hung heavy in the air as Sarthak silently proceed towards Akarsh's house with a chainsaw in his hand.

In the depths of Akarsh's farmhouse, the would-be nemesis sat unaware, indulging in his hobby of crafting animal masks. Unbeknownst to him, Sarthak's footsteps approached with a vengeful purpose. The door creaked open, and before Akarsh could react, Sarthak with his chainsaw cut Akarsh body into two pieces.

Sarthak's eyes fell upon the grotesque masks that littered the room. A perverse idea took hold in his mind. He collected the masks created by Akarsh. He gifted Dhruv a black sheep mask for his birthday and he give lion mask to lindsey. While other animal masks included a dog mask , a tiger mask , a white sheep mask and a goat mask . Sarthak kept the tiger mask for himself and kept the other masks in cupboard.

As Sarthak distributed the masks, he explained the morbid rules that would govern their new existence

as the "new" Clayton family. The diary of darkness was unveiled, its pages adorned with the rules written in Sarthak's firm hand.
The rules were :-
1) Each family member must wear their respective animal mask. 2) They could only hunt and kill one person at a time, indulging solely in the flesh of their own prey. 3) If a member isn't well trained , too young , sick , etc, then it's the responsibility of other family members to feed them with their prey. rules were to be followed with unwavering devotion.

With a mix of trepidation and resignation, the Clayton family prepared to feast upon their first victim, Akarsh. The taste of revenge mingled with the bitterness of their circumstances as they partook in this forbidden banquet, the shadows of their former selves swallowed by the darkness that now enveloped their souls.
